Have we all e-mailed ABC/Disney about Rush's terrorist activities yet?
Edited on Fri Apr-25-08 01:26 AM by SoCalDem
Surely if Shuster gets two weeks off for saying PIMP...and Imus gets fired for saying what he did, and Randi gets grief over what she said... should Rush get a free pass for inciting riots , and endangering the democratic presidential candidate, his family and numerous secret service people?

That Okay with ABC? Disney?

remember, the guys who talk the suicide bombers into strapping on the belt, do not blow themselves up, but they are terrorists, just the same...

There are about 11,000 radio stations in the U.S., and Capital Cities/ABC is by far the largest player. Either through outright ownership or the sale of numerous services, they reach about half the radio stations in America, and this number is growing.

With the Fairness Doctrine repealed, Capital Cities was able in 1988 to begin broadcasting one-sided editorials on conservatism. ABC Radio Network President Edward McLaughlin scoured the nation's radio stations for conservative talent, and his search led him to Sacramento, to a little known disc-jockey named Rush Limbaugh.

Rush had attracted an audience with his vigorous and spirited defense of Oliver North during the Iran-Contra hearings. McLaughlin brought him to New York City for a one-month "on-air" trial at Capital Cities/ABC's flagship radio station, WABC. For the next two years, ABC put him on the fast track, handling all his marketing, advertising and promotion.

For legal purposes, and to protect ABC's image of supposed objectivity, Rush formed his own media company, Excellence in Broadcasting. But to this day Rush continues to broadcast out of WABC's studios in New York.

1. the first amendment....
We need a history lesson here, and I am not going to argue it, but - just this: It actually would be good for our Democratic principles if Rush were silenced. That would force him to go to SCOTUS during his year-long suspension and argue the case that he is not inciting riot.

As for FOX, pull the plug on programming advertised as newscasts that lie, and let them prove the truth they see to SCOTUS. I want to see that fight. See, the good parts of this democratic thing make it possible to fight for your rights, and win, too, but you get a boot in the ass if you fuck with everybody else in the process. Fastest gun rules, ya know...only, now, it's our turn.

Edited on Fri Apr-25-08 01:41 AM by SoCalDem
if he is not living up to (down to) their standards.. What Imus/Shuster/Rhodes did were not ILLEGAL..just tasteles..surely what Rush is doing is worse.. especially when he's tying it in with "Operation Chaos"..and there is PLENTY of information online about that whole election tampering scheme of his.. This is an active campaign that HE and HE alone, is promoting..and he's using the airwaves..OUR airwaves to incite other people to break the law for him..

They will be the "suicide bombers", but he's the one handing out the belts..

a monopolistic effort to thwart principled guidelines relating to free speech. But one knows, that Disney -- the harbinger of all things good, and true, and non-denim -- would never exert undue influence to further their agenda over the concerns of the American people.

Ole Bob would never stick it to his benefactors... would he?

5. "Yelling fire in a crowded theater" is not protected by the first amendment
Neither is inciting a riot.
