So Reverend Al is going to straighten things out in NY ?????? |
|
It is why I don't worry, having those like Al Sharpton and Pat Robertson looking out for me.

1. Somebody asked me once why Sharpton and Jackson spoke for |
|
black people? I said they don't anymore than Bush speaks for white people. This is just the parameter that the MSM (especially Fux) creates.

until his dying day. Meanwhile, Democrats fall over themselves to excuse Robert"KKK" Byrd, "But that was so loooong ago! And he said he was sooooory! And he's an old man so shut up already!"
Tawana Brawley - Sharpton - Race baiting huckster - SQUAWK!

8. Al Sharpton provides a valuable public service in NYC |
|
If you don't live here, you probably don't understand what he actually has done and does. He's been a very consistent advocate for victims of police violence -- including the Bell family. He helps arrange attorneys, publicity and public support. He's done this countless times, and if it weren't for his campaigns, there undoubtedly would have been a lot more police violence. The entire approach of the police department to these cases has changed over the last 25 years much in response to his efforts.
If you are not part of the African American community in New York, you probably have little idea what he actually does, and as several posters in this thread seem to believe, his entire career can be summed up as "Tawana Brawley."
Incidentally, my mother was a school aid for many years at the local public elementary school (K through 6th). She remembers Al Sharpton as an elementary school kid sticking up for other kids wrongfully sent to the principle's office (!), telling everyone even then that he wanted to be a minister and civil rights leader -- so, no, it's not an act, this is is lifelong identity.
He is, like most pols, an imperfect person, but you might want to educate yourself to what he has actually done.

11. You are hitting the nail on the head |
|
Al Sharpton speaks out for those that have no voice in America.
He is not as he is painted in the MSM and it saddens me to see that a Progressive Board would have those who don't support his efforts to address the KNOWN abuses in our Justice system.
He is OK in my book!

9. yeah, that's a valid comparison, Sharpton and Robertson |
|
a guy who has spent his life fighting for an oppressed minority, and the CEO of one of the world largest televangelist corporation raking in hundreds of millions from rubes who think that their husbands diverticulitis will be cured because a prayer group of three clowns said so. Yes, quite comparable.
