In The Age of American Unreason, author Susan Jacoby offers a critique on American society saying that the combination of anti-intellectualism and anti-rationalism in American culture is becoming a serious problem. She focuses on issues such as society's addiction to mass media, ineffective educational systems, and religious fundamentalism. Ms. Jacoby discussed her book with Nick Gillespie, editor of Reason.tv and Reason.com.
