The questions at hand:
+ How old are you?
40
+ How is your situation (children, married, divorced, only child, etc)?
Married - 3 kids
+ How do you feel about the war?
I think some very intelligent people made some very unintelligent assumptions and did not do a good enough job researching history to understand what to expect.
+ When should this war end?
When the governement and area are stable and the infrastructure is established to a point it can self-sustain.
+ Was this war necessary?
Hard to say. Would IRAQ be better off if it hadn't happened? yes and no. Would the world be better off? I doubt it. Saddam was a power hungry dictator with no one to check him. In the end, I think good will come of this, but I doubt the ends will justify the means.
+ What do you think/feel this war is actually about?
It originally started out as getting rid of the regime. Its ended up being a rebuilding and aid effort. We've also managed to make the terroist network weaker and have actually convinced the good muslims to stand up and fight against the bad muslims. That monumental feat alone may justify every mistake that lead to this point.
And as another little bit of help...
+ What questions do you have about the war?
None
+ What other sort of questions would you ask someone about the war (sociologically speaking)
My only question is directed at people who think we should get out of IRAQ immediately: "If you think we should get out of IRAQ now, what do you think is going to happen after we leave?" I have yet to hear any logical answer that results in things turning out well. Those that think we should get out quickly are usually not well informed of the consequences of such a move. Those who completely understand what is happening usually agree that a quick pull out would result in catastrophe.
