A $600 bribe by the Republicans... |

The Republican Party hopes to keep the economy from drowning before November's election. Surely, it will go under for the third time soon thereafter. But, anything to get us thru the next election.
Since most people are up to their eyeballs in credit card debt, much of this "stimulus" will end up in the pockets of the credit card companies, namely, the banks. They could have cut out the middle-man and just bailed out the banks up front, if they had wanted. This would have saved a lot of paperwork. However, this way, nobody will notice.
Pity the next Administration. Just like FDR, they will inherit an economic mess unlike any seen since Hoover. How long before we see a run on the banks? How long before President Obama or President Clinton declare a bank holiday?
Although Democrats have been exaggerating the Republican disasters for years, this time they may be under-estimating it? It could be much worse than anyone now imagines? Let us hope that there is a plan for the disaster that just might happen this time around? We are not going to get out of this mess with taxcuts. You can bet on that.
