I tried to post this video about Sean Bell
but it had already been posted. But it is too late to reply to kick it up so I am just posting it here.

They need to fix that. If you can't reply, then you should be able to repost the video. This video is very relevant this week.

1. Why are you stirring up trouble? The evidence showed the car hit
the officer ... no wonder they aimed @ the driver. There were a couple of hundred folk @ the courthouse ... nothing in NY. Sorry, bark up another tree.

2. Maybe because we want justice done. It hasn't happened yet.
The car bumped the officer at what, 2mph? So then the cops try to assassinate everyone in the vehicle? Sorry, that shit don't fly.

3. The evidence demonstates otherwise. The fibers could not have been
embedded that deeply @ that low speed. So the witness statements, contradictory as they were, cannot be relied upon when contradicted by observable facts.

Shit don't fly? How about $50 million bucks?

8. Sorry if you're hearing this from me
Sean Bell slammed his car into an undercover detective with so much force it left an imprint of the cop's jeans on the bumper before the 50-shot barrage that killed the groom on his wedding day, the NYPD's forensics chief testified Monday.

Fabric imprints that matched the grain on Detective Gescard Isnora's jeans were found on the front bumper of Bell's Nissan Altima - showing where the officer was hit seconds before the shooting, Dr. Peter Pizzola said.

"It would be more than casual contact," said Pizzola, the head of the NYPD's forensic lab. "It would require heat. I can't determine what speed would have been required."

25. I am very curious about this "IMPACT."
As you may know, the amount of lateral impact point pressure required to break a bone is 15 pounds average.

Given the extent of this impact, How long was this officer in the hospital? I have other questions:

26. could they have been brand new (or poor quality) jeans?
some of the ultra cut-rate, heavy dye, shitty quality jeans i've owned in years past could have done that....just asking...

32. It's not the JEANS, it's the IMPACT.
The described impact would have shattered the average person's leg. Did it even CRACK one of the cop's legs?

I still haven't got an answer on this one.

27. OMG
This excuses the murder of Sean Bell and the shooting of his companions? My God, what the hell is wrong with you apologists? It DOES not justify shooting so many times that they needed to reload. Proving, yet again, that there are some cold hearted and ignorant people in this world. Murder is murder, no justification for a cold blooded shooting like that cop or no.

14. Lets not start talking crazy. You run your car into a police officer you're going to get shot
Its the way it is, and the way it probably should be. Those officers have a right to go home too.

28. Tell That To
Bell's family and the other victims of the shooting. There were other witnesses you know. To assume that every time a police officer shoots a young African American man was because they were provoked is cold, ignorant and illogical thinking. There is more to this story, 50 shots and reloading worth of story. Give me a damn break NYPD has too much of a history of shooting innocent, scared people for me to defend the actions of the officers who murdered Bell.

5. Am I on the right website?
Gee I thought this was a PROGRESSIVE site and progressives would have a problem with cops firing 50 rounds at an unarmed civilian.

As for all right, if I were, I wouldn't work w/police to improve community relations.

16. A vehicle, aimed and used to attempt to run over a cop is a weapon.
He was not unarmed, he had a 2 ton weapon.

15. Being progressive does not mean supporting attempted murder of a police officer
Not every person who gets shot by a police officer deserves it, but then again, some do. You try to run over a cop, and you're going to get shot.

And IIRC, they didn't even know it was a cop.

Sorry, NOTHING justifies firing 50 rounds into this car. Nothing.

21. Unfortunately, you are.
DU: home of the most reactionary pseudo-leftists the internets have to offer. A bunch of PWL's* who, whenever responding to the murder of an unarmed black man by jackboot thugs, can't resist asking, "What did he do to deserve it?"

And then there's that Fredda person, who just seems to hate black people. That is, of course, just my not-so-humble opinion.

11. OK.
So, a driver allegedly hit someone with their car.

Take him to court.

Oh, wait, he's dead.

No trial, no judge, no jury.

Breaking one law, doesn't mean the defendant forfeits the right to a trial.

Or did you forget that?

13. They were afraid of a jury trial because the people could see right through the bullshit.
But the cops, prosecutors and judges are all on the same side. In no way was this a fair trial. Fuck these cops and their "blue line". Fucking pieces of shit.

24. Soo...which bone on the cop's leg was shattered?

I shattered my right Tibia with the left one by falling on it. If the impact left fibers embedded in the paint, that had to be one HELL of an impact. I was recovering for over a year: this guy must still be getting physical therapy.

Where do I send "Get Well" card? :eyes:

The impact described would have torn my leg right off, but I'm a wimpy little guy.
