Does it make you nervous to know that the IRS is hurrying up to get |
|
the rebate checks out a week early?

The administration is having them mail the checks early so it will look like it's doing something to help the middle class.

5. I'm wondering if there are preliminary numbers out there somewhere |
|
that show we headed up Shit Creek even faster than the general public realizes. I don't believe the checks will do squat for the economy, but George thinks they will. Is George panicking?

7. Oh I think even George knows they won't do squat for the economy |
|
but he does think they'll do wonders for Republican cnadidates in November because he thinks we're stupid enough to believe the rebates were a good idea.

8. But who is going to remember the money that long? I doubt that |
|
any of it will last past June 1 and that it will vanish into paying grocery bills, gas bills and credit card bills. It' s not like people will be able to go out and buy a new washing machine or living room sofa!

11. Don't need to rely on preliminary numbers |
|
We have actual, here-and-now numbers that illustrate most explicitly that we are indeed up Shit's Creek, and no paddle is anywhere to be found.
If there were not so few people with even a basic understanding of economics, this country would already be in revolt.
