Why didn't Arianna kick Mayhill Fowler's ass to the curb?
Edited on Sun Apr-27-08 12:35 PM by npincus
Yeah, freedom of speech and all that. Well, there's a reason that it's a blog for progressives targeted to a progressive readership, with the objective of supporting and electing Democrats and doesn't solicit bloggers who hand ammo to the Republican Party and its supporters. Mayhill Fowler has indisputably handed our enemies a bounty of material which will last far beyond the primary season, no matter who is the nominee. The elitist argument has been used again and again to destroy Democratic candidates in favor of their supposedly more "plain and earthy" Republican opponents a la "What's the Matter With Kansas".

So, were I Arianna, I would say your privilege of posting at this blog that supports Democrats and Liberal principles and does NOT work to elect Republicans, has been REVOKED. But yet, that creature is STILL posting at Huffpo.

Go figure. Am I wrong?

1. Isn't she a Clinton supporter?
Or is there another reason for your opposition?

3. Isn't Clinton still a Democrat?
I know it's hard to tell sometimes. If you think that she hasn't handed John McCain a motherlode of ammo to make Dems look out-of-touch ("elitist") no matter who the nominee is, well that is your opinion. Mine is different. The only opposition that matters is beating the Repubs.

2. If I were Ariana,
I'd be sitting on a giant yacht in Tahiti sipping a tall drink while people stood around me slowly waving palm fronds.

It's just a fantasy, but it would be fun for a day or two.

4. Arianna is not the born again bleeding hear lib that people
try to make her out to be. Read some of her stuff from before 2000. She was a Republican then and became a Democrat because the neo-con fascist takeover of the Republican Party was too much for her. She is still a conservative on many issues.

7. As the wind blows,
and however she can make a buck, Arianna will go. She's utterly without deeply-held beliefs, convictions, or soul. When she was married to the closeted gay Congressman/millionaire, she led a truly disgusting conservative "salon" in Washington. When he was defeated, you better believe she divorced him fast, got as much as she could out of his family fortune, moved to California, and reinvented herself as some kind of liberal spokeswoman.

She's filth. Utter filth.

6. Because... it's about ratings/attention & the opportunity to break a story no one else had
It was realy that simple.

A few days after the story broke the HuffPost editor responsible for approving release of Mayfair Fowler's story posted a piece telling how's come they posted it. And the bottom-line reason is because, basically, no one else had it so it was an opportunity to make some news and get some attention.

That's the piece we all miss/ignore/forget when it comes to journalism (so-called). It's all about ratings/attention because that's where the money comes from.

9. It amazes me that she didn't.
Arianna is absolutely fueled by Clinton hatred. She can't talk five minutes about ANYTHING without spewing it out. If anybody tries to redirect the conversation she sputters in frustration. It seems to me that a great many of the Clinton Hatred Talking Points come from her website. I wonder what the genesis of the emotion is.
