Holy moley ... there sure have been a lot of earthquakes recently!
I look at this map every once in a while:

http://www.iris.edu/seismon/

Am I nuts, or is there an especially large number of events shown within the past few days?

5. Looks like the Pacific plate is shifting
most of the recent activity is at the perimeter.

7. Check out what's been happening just west of Reno
at the USGS site. None of them is really huge, but there must be nearly a hundred of them over the last few days.

Mother Earth is getting restless.

8. On the USGS earthquake site I have been looking at the map
of the western US with some concern.

The recent quakes in Wells, NV and this week in central NV all go in a line that points directly at the mysterious gap in the San Andreas where there is a chronic deficit of earthquakes. I don't know what, if anything, this means. Combined with the recent Reno stuff AND that stuff just off the southern OR coast. It's just creepy to me..........

I was a student at UCLA awakened by the Sylmar quake at 6:00 a.m. in 1971. Scared the sh*t out of me and my roommate. I never want to have to go through that again.

15. I went through Northridge. I figure that's about as bad a shakin'
as the San Fernando Valley can get.

I might have a frickin' heart attack the next time around, though. I think I got PTSD from it, and any shaking really freaks my heart out now.
