Exactly why is the media covering Patror Wright? |
|
a speech last night to the NAACP and today to the National Press Club. Last I knew he wasn't running for anything. From what I understand he isn't even the pastor at Obama's church anymore. And if they want to cover speeches by so-called "controversial" pastor's when are they going to give equal coverage to the guy that McCain went all out to win an endorsment of? Hagee, or whatever his name is.
I've listened to Pastor Wright and think he's right on target, but somehow feel that what the media is looking for is some kind of immflammatory statement from him that somehow they can pin on Obama.

Michael Jackson, Al Sharpton. These people didn't know that they must be submissive, obedient to an unspoken authority?

none of those on your list are "submissive, obedient to an unspoken authority". Let's not get confused with actions and consequences. And if you are willing to live with the consequences of those actions, then there is nothing that will stop anyone.

18. What I said (what I thought I said) is that no one told Jesse, Michael, or Al |
|
that they were expected to be obedient, submissive - not make waves, that they should be mildly bowing. The right wing corporate networks must always have a target. Funny, MSNBC is also obsessed with prisons and catching pedophiles - as if showing all these programs will scare people into being the good citizens the rulers want them to be while at the same, crimes of the ruling (corporate-military-political-think tanks) slide by. Any crimes threatening the security of the ruling class must be prosecuted to the last degree. I digress.
The media decides who will be chased & chastised on nationwide and worldwide TV.

6. Ironically, it's doing a service for some of us who find we agree with him |

I'm not religious, and although I was a member of the NAACP (currently lapsed), I don't typically follow all the speeches at the meetings. In fact, although I imagine I heard his name, I'm not sure I really knew who Pastor Wright was until the MSM latched on to him. I'm grateful for being exposed to his ideas.
And yes, the MSM always needs some sort of black "agitator" to help work white folks into a frenzy.
Sure, their delivery is different, but both Obama and Wright are so right about race in America.
That's why Wright needs to be demonized. Heaven forbid that we should actually pay attention to his message.

I heard the odious Cokie Roberts this am on NPR. She must have said the name "Jeremiah Wright" at least 7 or 8 times in a minute.
If this is all they've got to hang their swiftboating hats on, it's pathetic and I don't think it will work.

17. You would think that in the interest of fairness and balance |

They'd talk to George W. Bush about his nominal membership in the Methodist church, and how he is at odds with their official stance, which is against the war in Iraq. But when was the first, last or anytime in between that you saw Bush having to answer for his actions with anything more than a smirk and an airy wave of his imperial hand?
