Hey .... media fuckheads .... c'mere .....consider this ..... you have 24 hours a day to fill ..... |
|
..... 7 days a week ....... every year.
You gotta fill this time or you get the dreaded "dead air".
Here's an idea ...........
COVER THE FUCKING NEWS IN DEPTH.
Tell us about the back story. Do side bar stories. For example, tell us about Rev Wright's relative in Iraq. Tell us who makes Howie Wolfson's sweaters.
Tell us about the latest civilian deaths in Iraq. Tell us about how the Supremes aided and abetted the GOP with their voter ID interpretation of (Red State) Indiana's law. Tell us about the REAL peak oil status.
There's lots of material out there. And any intern can find it for you. Its not like its expensive to cover. And with all the airheads getting face time, it sure as shit isn't expensive to report.
There's no need to repeat the same shit over and over and over ....... unless you're trying to propagandize.
You're hurting our country.

6. It is the Dean "scream" all over again! |

If it wasn't Wright it would be something else. All this is being totally manufacture by the Corporate (supporting Republicans) owned media. There nothing whatever wrong with Wright. I haven't heard a word he has said that was not,in fact, true.

7. Oh, I don't know about that. |
|
The more people hear Rev. Wright, the more they can see that he's not the angry lunatic the media make him out to be. They can see that he's intelligent, accomplished, compassionate, served his country, and doesn't talk down to his audience the way the talking heads do.

But the media will make sure that does not happen. When will the media put Wright's words side be by side with Hagee's words?

18. But the media plays snippets of Wright, out of context. |
|
Perfect for future campaign commercials. The media is all about the 10 sec sound bite, not a journalistic story.

How bout they do an indepth probing analysis of the bizarre juxtaposition of the military backgrounds of those in the right wing media who constantly beat the drums for war, and more war, and more death and destruction.
Or a look at the genesis of right wing radio (hint wolf, it was when ray-gun did away with the fairness doctrine. Then you could follow up with why people like hannity and limbaugh fear the fairness doctrine almost as much as they fear swearing to tell the truth.
Great Idea H2S!!

And to the first reply...I don't think Wright is hurting our chances at all. The people who would let Wright influence them by the soundbytes have probably already had their minds made up any way. I wouldn't let the truth bother you. Speak truth to power, I say.

11. I will say one thing for sure |

I was sure surprised to see Justice Stevens vote in favor of voter ID and he even wrote the majority opinion. I mean :wtf:
Just the fact that he found in favor of this decision with the 5 conservatives will give conservatives ammunition to fight us on this.
My guess is we are going to see a lot more of this tried on the state level.
In Wisconsin they are trying to get passed as a amendment to the state's constitution (because Gov. Doyle keeps vetoing it).
This issue is most defiantly not going to go away, this decision ensures it.:wow:

14. I've totally stopped watching t.v. |
|
My t.v. is on the "off" position. All I do is podcast and search the blog for information. I feel like I'm living in the Twilight Zone, yet again, when we witnessed this kind of media demolition of a likely Democratic candidate. We saw what they did to Al Gore, Dean, John Kerry. I feel totally demoralized right now. It is so obvious that the media wants to bury Obama and it's working.
Apparently a new Reuters Poll puts Clinton nearly 10 points ahead of McCain, while McCain and Obama are tied in a statistical dead heat. That scenario was reversed only a couple of weeks ago, but with the 24/7 coverage of Rev. Wright and "bitter-gate," I now believe that Obama could be hurt beyond repair; it not now during the primary, then most definitely during the GE.
It is painfully obvious who the Corporate-owned and runned MSM wants as the Dem. nominee.
P.S. I am becoming more disappointed in Rachel Maddow. She is sounding more and more like a part of that MSM Corporate Establishment.

Look out. Incoming "Broadcast News" reference...
Aaron Altman: I know you care about him. I've never seen you like this about anyone, so please don't take it wrong when I tell you that I believe that Tom, while a very nice guy, is the Devil.
Jane Craig: This isn't friendship.
Aaron Altman: What do you think the Devil is going to look like if he's around? Nobody is going to be taken in if he has a long, red, pointy tail. No. I'm semi-serious here. He will look attractive and he will be nice and helpful and he will get a job where he influences a great God-fearing nation and he will never do an evil thing... he will just bit by little bit lower standards where they are important. Just coax along flash over substance... Just a tiny bit. And he will talk about all of us really being salesmen. And he'll get all the great women.

16. The proles are too stupid to understand depth |

to expect them and their feeble brains to be able to understand context and nuance is elitist. Just ask the pundits and media talking heads while they relax in their summer homes, they'll tell you the same.
