Tell the UK Telegraph they're out of their minds! Lieberman a liberal???
Daily Telegraph today has an article:
The 50 most influential US political pundits

Just look at their choices. The Brits must have a totally different definition of "Liberal" - and have no clue as to who is influential in the US and who is irrelevant. They list Joe Lieberman and Chris Matthews as 'liberals' - for starters - and need some real help in correcting their political acumen of life across the pond. You can ad your own 'most influential' liberal or conservative to their list. Go for it.

I added Mike Malloy and Randi Rhodes to the MOST INFLUENTIAL LIBERALS.

The 50 most influential US political pundits
Monday, 28 April 2008 14:48

With the internet revolution and the growing popularity of cable television, the multitude of voices can seem be bewildering and, occasionally, deafening.

The Daily Telegraph today unveils its list of the 50 most influential political pundits to help readers sort through whose opinions matter. These are the people who make voters sit up and take notice. They are the ones who political candidates and campaigns are constantly seeking to woo and influence. They include television presenters, newspaper columnists, bloggers and talking heads.

1. Lieberman is a social liberal and a reliable vote for those issues
it's on defense that he's conservative.

4. Lieberman appears on both lists
47. JOE LIEBERMAN
Senator for Connecticut

Although reliably Democratic on social issues, Lieberman’s strongly hawkish foreign policy views led to his defeat in his Democratic primary in Connecticut last year. He left the party, was re-elected and now caucuses as an Independent. A strong supporter of the Iraq war and an advocate of military strikes against Iran.

Ran as vice-presidential candidate on Al Gore’s ticket in 2000 and came within a whisker of becoming the first Jew to be elected to the number two job in America. Now estranged from his party, there are regular predictions that he might jump ship to the Republicans. Is also on our conservative list.

47. JOE LIEBERMAN
Senator for Connecticut

The only person to make both of our lists. It is easy to forget that Lieberman could very easily have been a Democrat vice-president today if he had not lost so narrowly with Al Gore in 2000. Instead he is a pariah for many Democrats because of his full-throated support for the Iraq war and a bellicose stance against Iran.

He was re-elected for a fourth term in the senate as an ‘Independent Democrat’ in 2006 and holds considerable power in the chamber given the slimness of the Democrats’ majority. He makes the conservative list because he would be a natural Pentagon chief in any Republican administration or a key Capitol Hill ally of a President Giuiliani or a President McCain.

TVNewsLies is a bit late too - they made the conservative and liberal lists last year. They've moved on to pundits now.
