No, I'm not so stupid or insensitive as to think people with some fundamental commonality or another are not all of one mind.

My reference is to what I have been hearing on MSNBC (specifically) all day.

Since then, there's been a chorus of black voices against Wright. All day long.

Where's the support for this guy?

And maybe more importantly, what strategy is being played out before us?

6. It's a sign of equality

Just as you can find white people willing to go on national TV and say how the country walking off a cliff is good for America, you can find some black peopel just as willing.

Just as you can find white people willing to hurt their own interests as long as people not like them get screwed, you can find black people just as willing. (Gays work best here)

Just as wealthy whites often figure out that they can get even more money by screwing those with less money (regardless of color), so too do wealthy blacks who find it's not so much about Black/White as it is Have and Have Not.

It's a sign of how equal the human "groups" really are. Black, White, Asian, Male, Female, Gat, Straight, Whatever.. all groups are equally likely to produce total assholes. Sadly being in an oppressed group in no way counters this. Suffering does not guarantee wisdom or empathy. One can be the victim of oppression and prejudice and be an oppressor and prejudiced one's self. In fact, it seems to make it even more likely, as if this kind of behavior was a virus that spread from Victimizer to Victim. Many may build up a resistance, learn to become more empathic or not do to others what was done to them. But some clearly do not learn this and it only takes a few assholes to out do the influence of a thousand saints.

When one adds the narrow little filter that the media tries to spin, this becomes even more pronounced in part because this is a great way to attack someone where race is a factor without being called a racist.

It's like when one is on trial for rape, one gets a female lawyer. Or if for a hate crime, a Jewish or Black lawyer. It's why Clarence Thomas, a clearly under qualified candidate for SCOTUS was nominated and affirmed.

If one wants to counter Wright's argument that there is a lot of racism in this country without discussing the merits of his argument, then you get a lot of black people attacking Wright. These black speakers may or may not reflect what the majority of black Americans are thinking. But it doesn't matter. Because it's on TV so it must be true.

And it works.

The boss talks to Bush on the phone once a month and meets with him twice a year. I went to one of their fundraisers.. you've never seen so many black dudes with flag pins.
