Rebate 'could' be used for "something more substantive". |
|
Some woman talking head on NBC News just now. I have no idea who she is.
"Some Americans will use the rebate check to pay down credit cards, buy gas or groceries, but some may use it for something MORE SUBSTANTIVE like a BIG SCREEN TV."
jeez :eyes:

4. Guess I'm a loser then. Ours is going to the IRS, if they give us one |
|
at all. I'd rather they just take the amount, apply it straight on to the taxes, and be done with it.

5. I actually might use mine for a TV |
|
But I don't have any debt.
I'm hoping to get an oil change and a TV with the money.

9. Unbelievable, most people are going to use their rebate to |
|
buy groceries or fill up their gas tanks. Big screen TV's, I don't think so.
BTW, trof did you hear Andrea Mitchell's report on Rev. Wright's appearance at the National Press Club today. I was totally appalled. NBC News can go fuck itself. I've been watching the NBC Nightly News for about 49 years of my 54 and I'm done with them now. That was the most one-sided "news report" that I have ever heard.

10. converting the "rebate"/bribe to euros would be "more substantive" |
|
but we'll be dumping ours into our meager savings account. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate these people?

up it will be used to buy a bed/desk/dresser set, and screen for our 10y.o. daughter. We live in an old farm house with small rooms etc...We need to make use of all available space. Our daughter's room is like a runway through the house, everybody has to go through it when going to the one bathroom in the front of the house or to the kitchen/diningroom/den in the back of the house. She needs the furniture, old bed is cheap and worn out, hand me down furniture or stuff purchased from consignment shops...Rest of the check will go to paying vet/boarding bill when we take our vacation this summer. Boarding our animals, 11, 3 dogs and 8 cats eats up the money...oh well, at least the vet gives us a discount....
