No news on my mini-vacation. I turn on the TV today and people are basically declaring Obama over.

Can someone explain to me why? It seems like nothing significant happened over the wekend.

Rev. Wright? We already knew about him.

The polls haven't really changed. Why this sudden shift?

BTW, Politico seems to think Clinton is going to pick Sen, Bayh from Indiana for v-p. ugh.

1. Clinton/Bayh... Now that's a ticket white America can get behind.

Evan Bayh is practically transparent.

Bayh is perfect.

He's the White Guy from Central Casting. Bland, inoffensive, fairly good-looking, and about as WASP as you can get. Perfect. And did I mention he's really, really white?

2. Nothing has changed.
There's been a bit of a media-induced kerfuffle and some people are still "stuck on stupid." Let the talking heads bat this one around for awhile; they have the attention span of a litter of kittens. Soon as somebody tosses them a new ball of yarn they'll run after it like the best new thing ever.

4. I haven't been on vacation
And I haven't seen anyone (outside of DU) "declaring Obama over". Where are you getting your news?

5. They got nothing
I mean, it's not like the dollar is dropping in value daily, or that people are losing their homes and their jobs. It's not that food prices are worse than gas prices, and soon, most people will have to choose between one or the other. Over 4,000 Americans dead in Iraq, for absolutely no reason, and the pundits have nothing better to do than to blather on and on about Obama's pastor.

Read "So Wrong For So Long," by Greg Mitchell, if you want to get a clear-eyed and blood-curdling examination of how the media let us down as that bastard in the Oval Office and his co-conspirators decided to go after Saddam Hussein.

Obama is fine. The talking heads just don't recognize class, charm, wit, style, grace, and intelligence when they see it, lacking all those qualities themselves.

9. Tweety even has calliope music on his show now
Seriously.

Of course he doesn't see the irony at all. He thinks it's all the other shows that are the circus.

8. I think Obama knows someone that has some odd thoughts.
as if the Clinton's and McCain only know pure people. I think it is really a reason not to vote for Obama and the news is working hard at that right now. There are a lot of people who want a reason not to vote for him and not call it a race thing. This is it.
