1. Good luck with that.
Here in Cedar Rapids I think we are over the worst....can't remember for sure. It was near a record on the Cedar river....closed a few streets. I guess they are worried down below as it hits the Iowa before it comes in below you on the Mississippi.

I hope you don't get too much damage there.
Good luck!!

:hi:

2. Is that usually dry land or are we
looking at the river?

And why are there Japanese characters on the live cam page?

6. Usually dry land
Right next to the river. Highway 61 is called River Drive locally and it is living up to it's name.

3. davenport did`t go with levee`s
and illinois side did..pushing the water over to the iowa side....

imy friends and i sand bagged during the last great flood in the 60`s..the sandbag wall had to be 20ft high by the old armory..we sandbagged along the top and it was terrifying to look out over the river and see all but the tops of the buildings in davenport...

4. 1993 was still the worst
'65 was bad, but lessons were learned and damage was kept down, at least in Illinois. Here in Davenport, the damage may not be as bad this time because of hard working city crews who set up temporary flood walls. But it will still affect rail transit as well as rerouting traffic.
