So how come M$M has given Rev Wright so much airplay
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 07:20 PM by malaise
and blaming him for all the coverage but they can't show us the war in Iraq, the military funerals or the dead Iraqis.

Who is Rev Wright's publisher and who is behind this media circus?
Something is wrong with this story and the timing is beyond suspicious.

Let me add that I see nothing wrong with his comments.

add.

3. Seriously? It's safe, cheap and effective
Covering military operations and dead Iraqis is risky, and somehow can be construed as unpatriotic. Covering soldiers' funerals is a downer, no one will watch that for long.

But having staff pundits foment baseless outrage against a Democratic candidate by using freely available footage of his former pastor is a safe bet for everyone. The advertisers will be happy, it'll get some ratings, and it weakens a Democratic contender -- everyone wins! :puke:

8. Please be more clear with your point. Are you trying to slam Obama? If so, have the guts to say
it. These types of posts are decisive. May be that's what u intended.

9. I expect nothing from either Hillary Clinton or
Barack Obama. Nothing either does or says to win will surprise me.
He wimped out as expected but it's no surprise.

That said this post is an attempt to hear some views on what 'went down here'. It is beyond suspicious.

For the record the only candidate I supported/support was/is Al Gore.

11. Fair enough. I was a Dennis K supporter that gave up something to support Edwards
and again gave up something to support Obama. I am not sure I can give up more. I agree Al Gore is the one.

6. I've never seen such blatant media bias before in a Democratic primary...
This isn't tilting the table, this is turning the pinball machine upside down to retrieve the balls and then using a magnet to put the ball in the Free Play hole.

I couldn't believe Newt Gingrich on "Good Morning America". Another Fair and Balanced Report.

14. For the same reason the M$M covers ANYTHING. Wright is just the Shiny Object of the Day.
Personally, I sort of suspect that Wright played them, and skillfully at that.

When it comes right down to it, I think I would have behaved in the exact same manner as Wright has, were I in his position. Like, "Okay, you want to freak out over some sound bites? *I'LL* give you some fucking sound bites, you idiot assholes!"

Personally, I'm loving this. This entire country is so invested in denial, that just the least little bit of actual REAL reality throws everyone into hysterics. It's an relievedly pathetic spectacle, yet immensely amusing at the same time.

Go, Wright! I love the guy!

16. I don't see what difference that makes. Like I said, had I been in Wright's position, I would have
jumped at the chance of being given a big fat public platform. I wouldn't have cared HOW it came about, only THAT it came about.

He's a performer -- as a performer myself, I picked up the vibe right away. You don't care how it happens that an audience shows up, you just love that an audience shows up. And then you do your thing to the best of your ability.

I happen to like Wright's thing. I don't give a shit about the simulcrum "election" that everyone's so jizzed about. And I've seen other posts of yours where you seem to be saying something at least simular.

Maybe I'm just not explaining my POV very well. The fault is then all mine.

What I'm trying to say is that "Hillary supporter Barbara Reynolds invited him to speak..." is SO irrelevent to me that I have no idea if I understand what you mean or not.

Peace,
sw

17. I agreed with Wright but I also know
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 08:36 PM by malaise
that the spin re his responses yesterday were designed to sink Obama.

As I say all the time I'm a Gore supporter but the winner here is Hillary since by renouncing Wright, he dropped the ball.
Bottom line is that while any Dem is better than these war criminals, neither Hillary or Barack can solve this planet's problems. Both are classic opportunists.

18. I share your disdain for ClintObama. I just don't share your concern for motive.
The way I see it, there's LOTS of players in this spectacle. All these players, which includes Wright, have their own motives.

What I'm saying is; I much prefer giving credit to Rev. Wright for having his OWN motives, rather than theorizing about him being someone else's tool.

Peace,
sw

22. Timing is fine. People will be burned out on this by the election
This relatively early flushing out of this stupid story may have a silver lining.

I have no issue with Wrights comments either.

After listening to more in context parts of his sermons, I was thinking of getting a bumper sticker on my car that says "Wright IS" - simple but effective IMO.

I think this story is on the downslope if you ask me.
