Why do you watch cable "Opinion shows"?
They aren't actual news broadcasts and i think sometimes people forget that.

3. I don't either.
They're all garbage no matter where they are on the political spectrum.

4. Olbermann and DemocracyNow
I watch those because I feel they give insightful analysis that isn't available many places.

6. I can't watch that junk.
I'd have bleeding ulcers withing 15 minutes. Most people offering their opinions represent the lowest common denominator. No thanks!

8. I don't
Accidently watched about 3 minutes of local "news" and almost threw my plate through the T.V. I don't watch any TV now.

9. I do! Or at least listen to them if something is interesting.
And I can be very informative in a right-leaning sort of way. :silly:

13. Sure I do; I had to turn the tube off yesterday because it got
disgustingly obvious what their motives were. I also do have other shows I watch, or go play in the garden, or sit in the sun, or do chores, or... But I do have the tv on a lot. You read about it on DU; I'm occasionally the messenger. ;)

14. I don't...although I did watch...
the Debates. I haven't been able to tolerate the 'media' for years, and I'm sure DU has a great deal to do with that.

16. I watch them with the same mindset I have when
I read movie reviews or even posts here on DU. I just like to see other perspectives. After a while you kind of get a feel for where certain ones are likely to be coming from, and which ones are more trustworthy.

Hell, I think I take the same approach when I'm reading the newspaper or watching any news program. These days it seems you have to take everything with a grain of salt and not give credence to anything until it's verified by at least a couple other sources.

17. Only when some one here or on some other like-minded site links to a youtube clip of them,
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 11:30 PM by Herdin_Cats
saying "Listen to what this asshole said! Can you believe this?!" Otherwise, I would be pretty oblivious to them. I don't have cable and probably wouldn't watch those nauseating shows if I did.

18. I don't anymore...
I stopped. The only "news" I pay much attention to now is our local news, Bill Moyers and Frontline.

Then I detox with lots of alcohol and smoke too many cigarettes! And read Time mag and surf the 'net.
