1. What did it cost ya eight years ago?
When rethugs were complaining about rising fuel prices and Governor * was saying he'd wield our influence to get "OPEC to turn on the spigots"?

Makes ya sick, doesn't it?

I saw people hanging around the gas station today (I had to get a fillup or run out completely in a neighborhood right off the expressway) people looked totally forlorn at the gas station. From there I went to the ghost town of a mall to stores with bare floors where there used to be shelves and racks full of inventory. Now I know what they meant by the word Depression. There's silence, stillness, activity in the marketplace has slowed down. There IS a depression. It's in the air. It's palpable. It's tragic.

2. In the editorial of the USA Today
There was a chart that showed the rise of gas prices from $1.31 in April of 2002 to $4.14 in April, 2008.

15. Yeah, what a load of shite
My crazy fundie Catholic Rush-lovin' Bush-worshippin' aunt keeps repeating that meme. I haven't seen her recently, but I'm sure she'll start yammering that talking point all over again because of the presser. I argued with her back at Easter about it, and she ditched the ANWR argument and started in on how we're not allowed to drill off the coast of Florida. That was a new one on me. WTF is up with that talking point?

17. MorningGlow, that's all they've got!

Start talking about manipulating the market to
artificially increase prices and they go through the roof!

Oh yeah, the pretzeldent is an oil man- that one makes
them crazy, too.

7. A new high for me today too
Busted the $55 mark. Woo-frickin'-hoo.

And I was just thinking how, when I got my Jeep in 2000, I could fill up for $20. And made $10K more than I made at my last job before I said "fuck it" last year and quit to freelance. WTG, Repukes. Thanks for everything.

13. $66 to fill up my caravan today
luckily, i take the train to work, so it's just a 1/2 mile or so to the station and back daily. i grocery shop on the way home too. i rarely use it otherwise, and it's a 4-cylinder, so that should last me 3-4 weeks, more in the summer when using the AC (it gets HOT here!). that's how i do it but ymmv.

16. I have the same car I had in 2000...it used to cost a little under $15
to fill it up (13 gallon tank). I went over $50 for the first time the other day, too.

But hey, at least gays aren't getting married!!!
