"Colombian goods come in this country duty free"
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 10:40 PM by TheFarseer
and there's a tax on our goods going into their country" says President bush. So they have an unfair advantage when it comes to an export market. That's why we need the Colombian trade agreement passed.

SO PUT A TARIFF ON COLOMBIAN GOODS COMING INTO THE USA. Do I have to think of everything?!?! Or demand they take their tariff off our goods. This is not freaking rocket science and we don't have to sell out our American workers. Why are we the only dumb-sh*ts that have a tariff on their goods and we don't charge any tariffs back? This is the same bogus reason they give for every trade agreement.

4. Colombia's chief export is Petroleum
Petroleum
Coffee
Cocaine (Petroleum is the official leading export)

Which would you like to tax?

I think at least two of the three would make you very unpopular with voters.

But you're truly correct. A "free trade" agreement should consist of one sentence: We will not tax goods we import from you and you will not tax goods you import from us.

Everything else is bull.

5. I like the one sentence trade agreement
Yes, idealy we wouldn't have to raise tariffs. Idealy, they would get rid of theirs.

7. Actually you're paying a DEA tax on that.
It's built into the wholesale price :)
