Nevada GOP recesses state convention amid strong support for Ron Paul

Outmaneuvered by raucous Ron Paul supporters, Nevada Republican Party leaders abruptly shut down their state convention and now must resume the event to complete a list of 31 delegates to the GOP national convention.

Outnumbered supporters of expected Republican presidential nominee John McCain faced off Saturday against well-organized Paul supporters. A large share of the more than 1,300 state convention delegates enabled Paul supporters to get a rule change positioning them for more national convention delegate slots than expected.

"I've seen factions walk out. I've never seen a party walk out," said Jeff Greenspan, regional coordinator for the Paul campaign.

Sounds like "Operation Chaos" took a right turn :rofl:

Had this been Democrats, we'd be getting "Breaking News" and non-stop Buchanan, Kristol, DLC and other pundit spin on how this was tearing up the party and the country was going to hell because of it. Instead, I hear crickets. Anyone else see/hear a report about this???

3. The GOOP Convention Could Be Fun...

Gramps still hasn't hinted who his VP will be. Who will he placate? The Fundies? The Neo-Cons? The Corporates? Whomever, he's gonna piss someone off.

Then there's gonna be who speaks at this funeral...do they give a prime time slot to Ann Coultergeist? Do they do a "tribute" to boooshie and let him speak? Do they do a retrospective of the past decade with pictures of Abramoff, Cunningham, Ney, Hastert, Foley, DeLay, Vitter and Craig...backed by "The Way We Were"?

Here's hoping Paul forces his way into a making noise in the platform and then forces his way into a prime time speaking gig. Looks like the Paulbots won't be going away quietly.
