At least 49 U.S. troops died in Iraq in April, making it the deadliest month since September when 65 U.S. troops died.

what was the mission? why is it five years later and we're still dicking around trying to figure that out. and impeachment remains off the table. and the soldiers and the innocent civilians keep dying prematurely and violently. oil's moving toward $200 a barrel as the powers that be continue to put every roadblock possible up against developing alternative sources of energy and the oil companies post ever larger profits. the campaign is somehow all about this reverend wright and nothing else. new orleans remains in a state of devastation. highest vacancy rate in owned homes as owners can no longer afford to live in them. what was the mission? did they accomplish what they set out to? i remember what gw said, the united states has prevailed - prevailed how? did they want chaos? where do we go from here?
i'm getting so discouraged. i may just have to stop looking because i cannot seem to find an upside. especially considering that no matter how many crimes are revealed impeachment will not be considered by congress. consider that once upon a time the news of WH-authorized torture would have had congress up in arms, but now it's just another day at the beach. if the motherfucker murdered a person and was caught holding the bloody knife would they move to remove him from office? i guess not, because that's pretty much already happened, and congress yawned. and the press spent another several days trashing reverend wright.
fuck.
