3. Sorry, the law says you do not have any right to see anyone's medical records |
|
I guess you can take a gun and make your demands, people don't have a right to demand cash from others but sometimes they do and use a gun. Since you seem to not care about the law that might be an option.

5. That is just bullshit. The President has to get a yearly exam and it is |
|
reported yearly what the results were.

8. One who wants my vote for 'President of the USA' does. |
|
He's not going to get it...but precedent and tradition make producing those records a prerequisite for ASKING.

11. People are free to use whatever they want to determine who they vote for |
|
and not releasing them would hurt him with people who are undecided, but the "demanding" of it, just sits badly with me. It's like talking about a dog and not a human being with rights.

12. No, it's not "like" talking about a dog, it -IS- talking about a potential EMPLOYEE. |
|
The POTUS works for us. We hire him to do a job.
And, like any potential employee, if he's unwilling to prove to show me that he's qualified for the position, his application goes straight in the circular file.
People have to provide "recent medical records" just to get a Joe Job at WalMart of HomeDepot; are we supposed to LOWER the standards for an employee who'll hold the keys to our nation's economy, diplomacy, and military?
The guy who desires the power to unleash our nuclear arsenal with a single phone call... wants to provide LESS proof of his qualifications than the guy who bags my groceries?
Nope. Fuck that noise.

4. Despite my respect for privacy-- |
|
Which I stated in a previous post on this subject, I have come to think you are right on this the more I look at McCain's positions, and how different they are from McCain in 1999 or 2000. Perhaps something has gone wrong. Is he stable? Could possibly not recall he was against ANWR before he was for it, or see how Nuke is inferior to solar--especially for a guy from a sunbelt state like AZ? Could anyone have changed his mind on so many positions, over eight years, especially the life-changing one of torture? Be confused in public over differing sects in our Iraq conflict after visiting that region *eight* times? If so, I might just want to know if he had a "silent stroke" or something.
Or verify is he actually functional, full of shit and a panderer. Because if his discrepancies are nothing organic--they are still organicly-certified horsecrap.
Although I would not have this standard for any other job, lonestarnot not subject anyone else to job-dicrimination on these terms----in this instance, where so many lives are at stake, I think I see where it does matter. If the GOP is running a robot, who just functions and does what they say, I think we need to know. The more flip-flops I see, the more I wonder if there is a story, there.

13. POTUS is like no other job. |
|
The public should demand that relevant records on the candidates' medical (and psychological) health records be made part of the public record. Also, any records like arrest / military service / financial records should be released. The person has the ultimate power over all of us. His finger is on the trigger. He can destroy this country or any country he chooses. You'd think, after Bush, this would be a no-brainer for Americans. If you don't like the scrutiny, don't run for the office.
