1. It cost me less than what they projected.

This past weekend the first leg of the trip and return leg resulted in 35 mpg.

While the last leg to my destination was 34 mpg and the same leg on the return was 31 mpg. (This leg of the trip included traveling thru Chicago. And the traffic was much different Saturday vs Tuesday on the return.)

The calculator estimated my mpg would be just under 30 mpg. Over 16% increase in mileage when I got 35 mpg.
