It hasn't paid its debts in over a decade. Now, is that true? If so, that's pretty sick. That said, what's the point in giving money to that particular government? As if it would get to the people.

1. That is one of the big dilemma we face in every world crisis. The
World Bank, IMF and other world financial agencies are part of the problem not the solution. Likewise many countries have governments that won't help their people. It would be nice if we knew an alternative way to help.

2. The real reason.
Myanmar/Burma has nothing to offer.

When the WB/IMF goes into a country, they expect sale/privatization of national/natural resources.

They have nothing to sell.

3. Really? Nothing? Or just no chance with the current Junta?
Seems to me every country has SOMETHING to offer the greedy fuckers at the WB.

4. If they had something to sell, the bribes to the new leadership would have started ages ago.

Their timber and such is being stolen and taken to neighboring countries. They haven't got an industry to sell right now.
