OK, now who's buying McClellan's book come Tuesday?
I know this question was asked last week when the news first broke, but has anyone changed their mind? I can tell you I have. I was only going to buy it second-hand, but now I'm going out Tuesday morning and getting it new. I can't wait for a used copy - I have to read it NOW. I listen to a lot of liberal talk radio, both national and local, and they are salivating over it. What sealed the deal for me was listening to Cynthia Black's show "Action Point" this morning on 1480 KPHX here in Phoenix. She's fantastic and she couldn't say enough about the book - she stayed up all night reading it and said that not only do we learn new things about the players we already knew were in the game, there were players we were as yet unaware of. (If you've never heard her, you might want to check her out, she's fantastic. She's got her own site and 1480 KPHX streams online as well.)

I know moveon.org wants McClellan to donate all his profits to benefit the soldiers and I half-agree - I think a portion, maybe even half, should be donated to them. But I'm not going to force anyone, other than O.J., to do anything with all their book profits. I'm not a Scotty fan, but for one thing, McClellan is going to need some good legal counsel in the weeks and months to come and that's not cheap.

Anyway, who's shopping on Tuesday for the book?

2. I saw it in the bookstore today, but couldn't bring myself to put money in Tubby McTreason's pocket.

4. I keep hearing it's already out - some bookstores could get into trouble for that.
I'm sure it happens all the time though.

11. Agreed. I may break eventually after hearing more about the details, but I agee with your sentiment
right now.

8. Yes, but...
I'm not justifying or excusing what he did. But, he did quit because of it, he did come forward which is a lot more than others have done and he is giving us much needed ammunition and information (which he wouldn't even have if he hadn't stayed on with the Bush administration for as long as he did).

18. Good points and I hope some good comes of it. He has a ways to go
to get off my little brown list though.

As far as I know, he is still a registered R and that alone will keep me from putting my money in his pocket.

9. That looks very good - I also want the new Richard Clarke book too.
I should work at a bookstore - I'd save myself so much money!

10. At my age, you stop buying books for yourself. I signed up at the library. I'm #13 on the list!
But it's an inter-library system and there are lots of copies extant in those libraries. My chances are that I'll get it within another 2 weeks. I'll have it for reading on the plane to Cali to see my grandson in mid-June!

12. I'd buy it even if it were badly written, badly done, and had no new information.
I don't care about punishing some small fry.

Rove? Bush? Cheney? I want to see them disgraced. I want to see them on trial. I want to see disgust on the faces of everyone who ever supported them.

McClellan's book alone won't do that. But there are dozens of other Republican insiders who are thinking of writing books of their own.

And they're watching Scotty's profits.

13. Not I. There isn't anything in that book that I don't know already and he's not telling all.
I don't quite understand why everyone is so giddy over this.

Look at the reaction from the MSM - the same old "kill messenger" bullshit.

If it's that good, I'll check it out from the library.

15. I can't do it. I won't put money into the pocket of a 'puke
even one who has "seen the light." McClellan had the bully pulpit. He could have told the truth and made a difference. Eliot Richardson showed the honorable way for a public servant to respond when asked to do something patently illegal and immoral by resigning rather than firing Archibald Cox.

.. why would I pay some conservative?

I have to finish Obama's Dreams from my Father first. I wish they'd turn that damned music down in there - trying to read.

22. I'll stand in Costco and read it -- then off to the library.
Scotty may be redeeming himself -- sort of. It's being published rather late in the game, but at least it's coming out before the General Election.
