FRITCH, Texas - What searchers couldn't find, drought helped reveal.

Canoeists on receding Lake Meredith in the Texas Panhandle found a small plane that crashed in 1984, the National Park Service said in a statement Saturday.

The 25-year-old pilot and a passenger died in the crash, according to a report by the National Transportation Safety Board. The Park Service didn't say whether it had recovered any remains. snip

Lake Meredith, about 20 miles north of Amarillo, is at just 8 percent of its capacity, according to the latest monthly report from the Texas Water Development Board.

1. This is the future, and the reality of global warming ...
... the Southern latitudes are drying out in America. We're in a drought in South Carolina, and Atlanta and Raleigh could run out of water this Summer. Overdevelopment in the real estate sector is going to cause major social upheaval. Welcome to the new world.

5. That's good to hear , but la nina doesn't last forever ...
... that region is over-developed, like mine is, and we're going to have to have some more responsible planning.

2. My girlfriend is from Fritch
Her brother lives next to the lake. I was there 4 years ago and was surprised that a lake so big was in the middle of nothing. Sad to hear about it's demise.

3. Meanwhile, 80 mph winds and 3" of rain all at one go . . .
I think first was Illinois --- other Wisconsin???

We're expecting more rain here Wednesday ---
we've been getting a lot but fortunately some of it we needed ---

One good thing about it, so much rain actually cleared the air for a day or two.

Driving now without A/C as much as I can --- I get car sick from the fumes!!!

Air is FOUL ---

I'm in NJ ---
