Freep asks the burning question of today: "Would I prefer a Christian over a Catholic?"
Rocket Scientist "Hambone02" delivers an articulate and passionate response to the Freep thread "Governor Jindal, The "Christian Right," And The "Catholic Issue"...

To: Kaslin

So what could possibly get in the way of Governor Jindal’s rise to national influence?

His associaton with John McAmnesty. Otherwise, nothing. I am a huge Jindal fan. I voted for him when he first ran for governor of Louisiana, but had moved to Missouri by the time Kathleen Blancstare left office. People asked the same question about JFK concerning catholicism. Religion only has a small part to do with a decision I believe. Would I prefer a Christian over a Catholic? Yes. But, if he/she is a Catholic, would I prefer a pro-gay, pro-abortion, pro-tax-hike, anti-defense, anti-God Democrat over a Catholic Republican Candidate? You can consider that a rhetorical.

1. They don't care that their sect wouldn't exist if not for Catholicism
...and a reformer named Martin Luther who decided he had all the answers back in the 1500s.

7. Not in Radical RW Religious World
All radical religious types the world over are guilty of the same thinking: you aren't one of us, you refuse to become one of us, therefore you are the enemy and your life is worthless.

See Sunni vs. Shiite and Protestant vs. Catholic for epic battles down through the ages to illuminate how similar they really are in their self-righteous bloodthirst.

6. This is very common
In their book, no one who is not of their sect is Christian. I had one tell me once, "I used to be Catholic but then I became a Christian."
