* then and now - pic

U.S. President George W. Bush is pictured in a January 19, 2001 file photo (L), the day before he was sworn in as the 43rd President of the United States. Bush is then pictured speaking before awarding the Medal of Honor posthumously to the parents of U.S. Army PFC Ross McGinnis, of Knox, Pennsylvania, who was killed in Iraq in 2006, at the White House June 2, 2008. The photos show the President as his first term began and then near the end of his presidency after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the U.S., and the ongoing military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In 2001, he has a cocky look in his eyes--now, a lost, almost fearful one.

20. I'd be scared if I was him
I sure wouldn't trade places with him for anything in the world. I say its all eating on him and in time will eat him up if he doesn't come clean, then it still will. Hes screwed no matter what now, just been too much water under the bridge.

Is a remote sense of ethics and decency. Maybe it's eating him from the inside out in an attempt to do the world a favor.

27. if you can even call it work
half days, naps, lights out at 9, more vacations than most retirees i know.

i'm convinced he goes on drinking binges on those periods when he just never seems to surface no matter what, which is why his response to disasters is so atrocious and so late -- they have to sober him up first.

and then, "work", for him, is chumming it up with big donors and laughing at the little guy.

19. All such before and after pictures show a huge difference
Compare the before and after pictures of any president who has served two terms. You can see almost as big a difference even with one-term presidents. Even for *, the position is very stressful and that takes its toll. And anyway, any two pictures eight years apart will show a lot of aging, no matter who. Except for Dorian Gray and Joan Rivers, that is.
