There`s something hair-raising about Bush`s King-Of-The-Hill swagger and menacing threats, so I`ll be very relieved when he`s finally off the national stage and back to acting out in Texas. He gives me the creeps....so ready to pick a fight, so ready to destroy real or imagined enemies. Odd how differently Bush acted back in 1972 when he counted on a few Daddy Bush strings to be pulled in his favor.

Perhaps I shouldn`t admit this, but it riles me to hear that Bush went to Walter Reed. He should crawl in on all fours and beg forgiveness for the tragedies he has caused, for the lives he has ruined. He should be forced to write a letter of apology to every person maimed in his name, to every family whose loved one returned in one of those caskets we`re not allowed to see. I can`t even imagine the pain Iraqis have had to endure, for they not only had loved ones killed or mutilated, they lost the country they love. Dead animals. Destroyed museums. Fouled waterways. Bombed buildings. For what? So William Kristol can play-write his way through a war in the Weekly Standard? So George Bush can play dress up as an action figure on an aircraft carrier? So Cheney can seem even more fearless when he orders up another 650 quail for the shooting range? Why didn`t Congress stop these people? Did they think the photos of secret prison ships and torture flights would be a colorful addition to their grandchildren`s history books?

I want President Obama to enter the world stage with a little humility, some honorable intentions and a lot of hope. I want him to begin a healing process by reaching out to those who don`t trust us and don`t like us. I want the children of Darfur to have shoes if they want them and a home if they need one. I want giant giant bowls of life-saving rice to appear wherever they`re needed. The end to all suffering may be a bit much to expect, but we can have an end to war mongering, an end to torturing. We can do our part in that All For One And One For All project and see how much good will is worth. So much is possible once we rid ourselves...our country...of this bomb-first-and-worry-later president, the worst president in American history.

possibilities. There will be Threats. Obama has said he is not against all Wars, just dumb ones. Those "giant bowls of life-saving rice" depend upon how he plays his hand.
