McClellan Was Fired!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/06/01/AR2008060101961_pf.html

At the time, McClellan suggested that his resignation came at his own instigation, but "What Happened" makes it clear that while McClellan was ready to go, he was basically fired by Bolten. In an anecdote that is revealing of the new chief of staff's tough-minded approach, McClellan recounts sitting down on a couch in Bolten's office and being politely shoved out even before he had a chance to open his mouth.

"This is not something pleasant for me," McClellan quotes Bolten as telling him. "You are really liked around here. I really like you. But I believe this is a White House that is severely crippled and in need of change. One area that I have decided needs to change is your position."

---

I think what this proves is that McClellan was kind of like the Michael Brown of the WH Press Office.

7. Busholini never fires anyone. He has others do it for him.
Scotty McLiar still defends his Boss, blaming all of those around the Boss of corrupting his
Busholini Hero.

11. yeah i noticed that
every time i have heard mcclellan speak since his book came out, he has made a point of reiterating his "great personal affection" for gw. i watched him on washington journal and felt like calling in to ask him why? what about that bastard do you find adorable? look at what he's done, what a terrible leader, compulsive liar, cold hearted hypocrite. how could you feel affection for such a waste who has caused such destruction?

24. How many press secys has Dubya had? When they are told to LIE every day,
subsequent events are sure to strain the credulity of even the WH "press corpse", and force Dubya once again to choose someone new to lie for him.

3. I thought that was the general belief at the time --
aren't most people who "resign" -- especially to "pursue other interests" -- just really fired?

Basically, the average American male can just stare at her and tune out what she's saying. In other words, just like any other blonde.

Text: President Bush and Scott McClellan
By The Associated Press
Wednesday, April 19, 2006

Text of President Bush and White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan on Wednesday, as transcribed by CQ Transcriptions.

MCCLELLAN: Good morning, everybody. I'm here to announce that I will be resigning as White House press secretary.

Mr. President, it has been an extraordinary honor and privilege to have served you for more than seven years now, the last two years and nine months as your press secretary.

The White House is going through a period of transition. Change can be helpful. And this is a good time and good position to help bring about change.

I'm ready to move on. I've been in this position a long time. And my wife and I are excited about beginning the next chapter in our life together.

You have accomplished a lot over the last several years with this team. And I have been honored and grateful to be a small part of a terrific and talented team of really good people.

Our relationship began back in Texas, and I look forward to continuing it, particularly when we are both back in Texas.

BUSH: That's right.

MCCLELLAN: Although I hope to get there before you.
I have given it my all, sir, and I have given you my all. And I will continue to do so as we transition to a new press secretary over the next two to three weeks.

Thank you for the opportunity.

BUSH: I, first of all, I thank Scott for his service to our country. I don't know whether or not the press corps realizes this, but his is a challenging assignment dealing with you all on a regular basis. And I thought he handled his assignment with class, integrity. He really represents, you know, the best of his family, our state and our country.

It's going to be hard to replace Scott. But nevertheless, he's made the decision, and I accept it.

One of these days, he and I are going to be rocking in chairs in Texas talking about the good old days of his time as the press secretary. And I can assure you, I will feel the same way then that I feel now, that I can say to Scott, job well done.

MCCLELLAN: Thank you, sir.

BUSH: You bet. Appreciate you.

END

10. He was planning to leave and was hoping to get 3-year tenure
but was told to move it up. At least that's how he explained it to Russert on Sunday. I suppose inside the Beltway that's a firing but it's indeed a softer landing than most people get.

14. This is laughable -- so WHAT if he was fired?
Does that mean his words are not true? I haven't heard one single statement refuting his words from the lock-step-talking-points toadies. Not one.

The "Michael Brown of the WH Press Office"? Why, because he had a conscience & is trying to clean the filth off himself?

I don't care if he was "fired" or not. I only care that he is opening up discussions.

15. Imagine that...used up and tossed aside when no longer needed.
Can you say Katharine Harris?

She was nothing but a concubine for the GOP. They used her, then tossed her in the street like a used condom in a bar parking lot on Saturday night.

Welcome to the club, Scotty. When you put your values, ethics, and morals on hold and do the down and dirty with people like Bush and Cheney, this is what happens.

I wish I could say I feel sorry for him, but I don't. He should have spoken up.

Yep. I believe it. Bolten decided to take a cue from Fox News, and stick some eye candy in front of the camera.

19. Tony Snowjob was a much smoother liar.
Tony was hired by CNN but has not appeared there but once. It seems that his
cancer is progressing & he might not return.

The point about Scott being fired is that it is just one more lie that he is telling.
He is scapegoating all who "served" his Hero, Busholini & still defends him. His "True
Believer" status is intact.

He certainly was a better liar than McClellan. I remember the first time I saw McClellan filling Fleischer's spot, I said to my friend, "this guy sucks at that job". He seemed physically uncomfortable.

20. McClellan and Bush had a sexual fetish arrangement going on.
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 03:19 PM by IanDB1
Bush got a kick out of watching Scotty being abused, and Scotty enjoyed it, and got off on it.

By the end of a press conference, you could tell that Scotty was "lost in subpsace," having thoroughly given himself over to his little bondage scene, using David Gregory and Helen Thomas as his unwitting Master and Mistress.

He even brought in a gay male prostitute named Jeff Gannon to join in his daily BDSM scenes.

It couldn't possibly be more clear.

Sending Scotty out to be abused was Bush's power-trip. Whether Bush sexualized this or not is anyone's guess.

Being abused was Scotty's fetish.

And Jeff Gannon's 19 sleep-overs in The White House was Scotty's reward.

It all makes sense now.

29. Intriguing, I wonder when Gannon will write his book?
Looks at the lengths (telling the truth) Scotty has undertaken to continue the abuse. Little George must be livid at least in private. Even though Scotty has come clean (up to a point) it is easy to forget the freak show he orchestrated in the WH press-room.

I'm sure there are many more stories Scotty and friends can tell after Bush leaves office.
