John W. McCain lost a total of 5 MILITARY AIRCRAFT during his career??? As an AF vet, I can tell you, losing 1 usually ENDS your career.

And he recieved 29 awards for performance in combat?? He racked up a total of 20 hours of combat, recieving approximately 1.5 medals per hour!!! Many men sat in the frigging jungle under combat for months at a time and didn't even get a 'welcome home' handshake!!!

14. This is a guy who...

is/was what's called a "legacy" in academic admission circles, just like GWB. He finished damn near the bottom of his USNA class, which would usually keep one out of flight school. He's been on the public-sector payroll all his life, with the attendant ultra-cushy benefits, including health care and retirement far beyond what was available to us private-sector, tax-payin' folks. The "hero' status is way overblown; tens of thousands of our military have been POW's, many not surviving. He's a product of myth-making media with a suspicious agenda. I call BS on him.
On his combat awards..thanks for posting that. Source? Maybe he got a good-conduct medal for every successful carrier landing?
