Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 06:08 PM by Liberal_in_LA
Radio program 'Market Place' on NPR is reporting a high demand for 10 year old Geo Metros. Gosh! Things must be getting tough.

The Geo Metro Rides Again, Sort Of
Drivers desperate for high gas mileage are snapping up the poky, discontinued Geo Metro because it offers around 44 mpg

Also, Triple A is reporting more people running out of gas... trying to get thru week on 20$ fillup. not making it.

1. I don't think there are any ten year old GEO Metros. They
became Chevys in the 1998 model year. The Suziki Swift is the same car. I noticed this demand for Metros a week or so ago:

2. i had a 93 metro....great little car.
drove it for 4 years through all kinds of weather in northern illinois. it was still running strong till i discovered the front frame was totally rusted out. that sucked because i just put 300 dollars in engine and tires..

i`m seeing fiesta`s,metro`s, and other small cars being rescued..hell i saw a "perfect" yugo last summer..

but i have`t seen any "LeCars"

5. 10,000 dollars 2500 gallons of fuel 167 full tanks
It would take a LONG time to make that up if you consider the variation from an accepted $2 to the unaccepted $4. That would be 5000 gallons of gas. About a tanker full at the 2 dollar variance..

No bank will finance it, you will be paying cash for a vehicle that guarantees you death in any significant motor vehicle accident.

The time to recover you cash outlay here would be significant. A Hyundai or other modern subcompact would be a better deal if one felt compelled to replace a functioning vehicle.

Replacing cars is almost always a loose situation.

Then we got a Saturn.

I remember we used to joke that we didn't have to lock the doors on the car because no one would steal it.

12. Isn't that the same car the freecreditreport.com guy is driving off the lot in the commercial?
His credit was Whack, but that's ok, he can drive past the witches driving the gas guzzler sports car who laughed at him....who's laughing now?
