My Friend's Step-Son was Injured by an IED in Iraq

On his second or third deployment- 22 years old. We just found out he was seriously injured but do not know the extent of his injuries- they are stabilizing him and then bringing him to Germany.

I am so sad and so mad it just sucks

He was really gung-ho Marine when he went over the first time, then lost a few buddies and saw some shit no one should see. He did not want to go back but he did and now this.

All the curse words in any language in the world would not begin to express the hatred i have for those who sent this kid to get screwed up like this- first mentally, now physically and still just a kid, really.

Anyway. if you're inclined to pray or send karma or good wishes or whatever, his name is Doug.

8. The updates not great

He has burns over 60% of his body- most are throed degree. He is currently in Germany and when he is stable enough, he will be transferred to San Antonio. He is in a medically induced coma and also has inhalation injuries. He also has 2nd degree burns on his face. And he isn't 22, he's 21.

12. His family is going to Texas Saturday

He is supposed to be transferred to Brook Medical Center

He is in rough shape

Bad Bad burns- his stepmother told me they may have to amputate his hand.

And he has serious inhalation injuries as well.

Like a lot of military kids- he is married even though he's only 21. They got married in October- his bride is 19. How are they going to get through this?
