Sorry Scotty, no dice; but as Mr. Pretzelnuts would say "nice try" |

I say with 100% certainty that this Scotty and Pony show going on now is a completely orchestrated public relations initiative.
These guys are too obvious now. This is a classic Rovian screenplay: Use one of your own to disseminate a little part of the truth. This serves to soften up public attitudes as more is uncovered later. It also gives the public the impression that everything has been exposed.
Listening to Scotty on Fresh Air today convinced me. I looked for and confirmed that he would stick to the basic propaganda lines. Everything was an error in judgment.
If he ever shows up in front of a congressional committee you will see how truthful Scotty will be. :sarcasm:

Every time she pressed him on a point, he conceded no more than he revealed in his "book." He also made sure not to say anything that wasn't already "out there," and he was very careful not to embarrass The Annointed One.

4. Interesting that you post this. |
|
I had the same impression tonight when Matthews interviewed Scotty. Tweety's first question was, "how does this President feel about the soldiers who are killed in Iraq?" Then Scotty tells us how broken up by these deaths Bush gets. That's total BS...a sociopath could give a rat's ass about the families of soldiers who are killed or disabled. I thought that Scott is rebuilding Bush's image, now that he has gained more confidence with the viewer. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues.

6. this is their favorite scam. Arlen Specter pulls this one for them all the time |
|
He becomes the outraged Republican who's going to hold the WH to account. Yeah, right.
You put it very precisely, "gained..confidence with the viewer". By confirming what we already know, he believes he's earned some currency with the viewer. Not this viewer.

5. On the Chris Mathews show tonight Scotti went on and on |
|
about how compassionate Bush was. Said that if he had known that so many Americans were going to get killed in Iraq he probably wouldn't have started the war.
Bush is a psychopathic bastard and McClellan knows it. Who's he trying to kid?

7. He's wants sympathy and he won't get any from me or money either. |
|
I don't care how much of the proceeds he intends to give to vets. He's full of crap and in my way of thinking that money is no better than any other war profiteer's money.

9. Indeed, and Scotty is pushing the big lie... |
|
that this war was to bring democracy to the Middle East. Anyone paying attention knows it was for oil. I'm not buying the Scotty show either.

11. Burns me up that he gets to trot his BS onto every show and peddle the Big Lie. |
|
This was a lame attempt though. I trust Rachel, Keith and other analysts to see through the nonsense.

12. My first reaction to his interview with Keith last week |
|
"He's being very circumspect in his answers."
I don't know if this was orchestrated--I don't tend to give the Chimpy McFuckface team credit for that much skill--but there's definitely a specific limit to how subversive this particular book is allowed to be.
I sure as hell don't buy the notion that Chimpy took us to war to spread democracy.

17. My bro-in-law just did two tours in Iraq, and he's heading in a few weeks. |
|
More than a few men and women under his command NEVER came back from Iraq. So, from the People of Iraq, our military members and, oh, pretty much the rest of the world:
"Fuck you, McClellen. I hope you are haunted by what you could have done for the rest of your miserable life."
