Holy shit. He nailed Scotty "Puffy McMoonface" McClellan, totally nailed him. Scotty tried to claim the war wasn't the result of intentional misleading on the part of BushCo, but Jon would have none of it.

If only Brokaw, Williams, Tweety, ANY of them, had had what it takes to ask such questions.

*sigh*

1. Sorry for replying to my own thread, but...
...is this not THE MOST hard-hitting interview you've heard re: the Occupation? And it's on a freakin' COMEDY CHANNEL.

Not on a NEWS channel. A COMEDY channel.

Oh...my...god...

16. In Totalitarian Nations, it is common that the only place truth can be found is in comedy.
It was like that in the Old Soviet Union, it is like that in Bush-Occupied Amerika. It is as simple as that.

None of this is surprising, once you study deeply of the nations that were the precursors of Bush-Occupied Amerika, at least in terms of propaganda.

That is the way is is, and until our nation is free once more, that will be the way it always is.

So ease up on the surprise. What you saw is part for the course. It is is surprising as the sun rising daily.

3. It was convincing. I almost believe McClellan now.
Something tells me he's being honest and open. At first I thought it was a scam. Placing his toy rocking chair as far from Bush's as possible was the icing on the cake. He means it.

I think we're witnessing the beginning.

4. I disagree, I think he is still trying to cover up by saying what Bush did wasn't intentional
and Jon Stewert just destroyed him over that bullshit.

9. It worked fine on Matthews earlier.
In fact none of Matthews' questions even sounded like questions. More like scripted talking points. Prompts.

8. Colbert's 'The Word" was a scathing indictment of the press
It will become another youtube classic.

At the end he said they will probable hire Scotty
to help peddle the lies that they accepted.

12. I agree it was one of the best in a while
Nothing is as good as his speech in front of dumbo.

But, this one, was right up there with one his best.

13. That's exactly what my husband and I were just saying; if only
the M$M "journalists" had HALF the set that Stewart's got, we'd never have gone as far down this road as we have.
I haven't read the book, so I can't say for sure if McClellan takes any responsibility himself for any of the shit that went down; I agree that the media really fell down on the job, BIG time. I also have to say that there is probably more that We The People could have done (not to in any way diminish the many actions that WERE taken, and continue to be taken, by activists of all kinds). I know I could have roused myself at times to do more...

But the way the media is giving itself a pass, just as they've given the Imbecile's misadministration, and McClellan, a pass, just makes me ill. They were the fucking CHEERLEADERS for this filthy war and apologists for this pResident, the "hero." :puke:

*sigh* I know I'm preaching to the choir, and I'm tired; you all know this shit...

November! Obama! Unity! Ya Sure You Betcha We Can!

He wrote the book to try to "soften" what really happened, maybe to keep his own ass out of jail.

He was a high powered attorney but if you stuck him in Washington, it would have been a train wreck.

20. I didn't mean THAT WAY, lol!
But more, being part of a culture that is sort of indirect and expects everyone to have the same values and who will do most anything to avoid a confrontation.

It's hard to describe but, it's just different.

lol

22. By far the best interview of McClellan I've seen.
McClellan has largely been getting a pass on his blaming the "liberal media" for not pressing harder in the run-up to the war. Stewart wasn't having any of Scotty's rationalizations on behalf of Bush.

I only wish Stewart would have pressed McClellan on some of his own specific lies.

23. You can get away with saying things in the context of comedy that you'd never get away with saying
on a "real" news program. Being on Comedy Central rather than something like CNN, gives Jon the cover he needs when he wants to be hard-hitting.
