Sorry, link only.

ADDED ON EDIT

A stunning animation from WWF International Polar Programme, showing the progressive melting of Artice sea ice since 1979. The white is older ice - five years or more old - and the blues are progressively younger ice, with the shade closest to the ocean being fresh, or one year old, ice. The red dots are tracking buoys, showing how the ice is shifting further and faster as it melts.
(thank you to fark for the heads up)

1. Global warming doesn't exist.
Don't you know that?

:sarcasm:

K&R. Everyone needs to see this.

2. Technically...
...the globe isn't warming, it's the ice that's warming.

:sarcasm:

3. If you don't cross-post this in E/E, I will
I LOVE how that video REALLY demonstrates how the old ice gets pushed down past Greenland, where it melts. Probably an age-old process, but it's startling how even the "old" ice in the video is on 4-year ice. Virtually all of the 5-year ice is gone by the end of 2007.

And here's today's ice:

8. You're more than welcome
We're always looking for new people to suck in.

I mean, after you've argued with the other 20 people the merits/fallbacks of nuclear, biofuels, and PV, what more is there?

I'll tell you what there is: sucking more people in to argue with, that's what! :D

7. Come on down the Environmental/Energy Forum! Many great posters posting much information.
GliderGuider, hatrack, and XemaSab, to name just a few.

Much more so than in GD, the E/E forum is about knowledge exchange, data exchange, and to a lesser degree exchange of opinion regarding tha data presented.

Spend a month in E/E, and you will gain so much knowledge and understanding of the various aspects of environmental/energy issues, you will be amazed. You will be able to be, by far, the person with the most knowledge of environmental issues in any conversation, regardless of what you agree or disagree with. You'll get feedback from all sides.

Come on down!

:D

(And don't put me in the same camp as GliderGuider and Hatrack, I am but a lesser star in the E/E constellation.)

10. Sorry. And being a "lesser star" sure as hell beats me good.
I don't know what I would call myself, surely not a star, greater, lesser nor anything in between...a Black Hole, maybe?

See you 'round the boards, oh Faster Than Expected One. :hi:
