Lets talk about the real issue - INDICTING Bush for having Scotty lie - OBSTRUCTION |
|
This story was out in November right after McClellan leaked a critical passage from his just released book. He was confessing then and he's confessing now - Bush told him to get Rove and Libby off the hook and he did. OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. Why won't people focus on this? How could people defending Scotty back then saying he wasn't spilling the beans. The NY Daily News knew, you knew, and I knew. Call a special prosecutor and indict Bush.

" The most powerful leader in the world (That would be Bush!) had called upon me to speak on his behalf and help restore credibility he lost amid the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. So I stood at the White house briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby. "There was one problem. It was not true. "I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice President, the President's chief of staff, and the President himself." http://tinyurl.com/yvlyno">Public Affairs (McClellan's Publisher) Web Site
Where are the Headlines?
White House involvement in compromising a top intelligence agent was a matter of great concern in 2003. Why the indifference in 2007?
Snip
Shouldn't Protecting Against This Generate a More than a Few Headlines?
Valerie Plame's mission was to track the illegal market in nuclear weapons. The goal was to prevent the use of any of those weapons against the people of the United States. The mission was disrupted when Plame's true role as a CIA NOC agent was revealed. The leak came from the White House. Then, when fingers were pointed at Rove and Libby, the president and vice president swung into action. They told their press secretary to lie to the press and the people. By McClellan's account, they conspired with the group to deceive the public and perhaps the special prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald.
Failure to grasp its meaning of this story requires an exceptional act of will.
We expect much more out of those charged with protecting the nation and its citizens? Isn't the mainstream media, the so called "fourth estate," a self anointed protector of the public well being? We've been told that this is done by vigorous coverage and investigation of major stories involving presidential cover-ups; particularly those dealing with critical national security threats. But here's what we got. The supposed "paper of record," The New York Times was the first, or one of the first, news organizations to break the story on Tuesday at 1:29 p.m.
The New York Times
The internet news sites battled back and forth with some on the left taking the lead in exposing the gravity of this accusation. But where is the New York Times?
Is this story simply going to die like so many others that show the outright danger posed to the people by their so called leaders? Democratic presidential candidates have jumped on this revelation. Will leaders in the House and Senate hold hearings to determine the accuracy of McClellan's devastating revelation? If hearings happen at all, will they lead to a Bush - Cheney impeachment in the House and a trial in the Senate?
We've just seen how the mainstream media reacted to the disruption of a very high level operation to prevent the use of nuclear weapons against the populace. Why would we expect the same media to pay much attention to the process of holding the president and vice president accountable for this travesty?
Here's a much more helpful attitude by the press. Note the question mark at the end of the headline. They report, we decide…but first they must report.

1. this is one of the fundamental flaws with our society at this moment. |
|
there are 2 sets of laws. one for the common man and one for the elite.
bush and his cronies have literally gotten away with murder and with war crimes and thievery at a previously unimaginable level.
they will probably never be prosecuted.

3. Which is exactly why I never stop bringing up their criminal history and hold the spotlight on their |
|
protectors - the media and some once powerful Democrats.

6. And among their crimes is the set up of no bid contracts such that |
|
Our service people are electrocuted while showering, the water that Halliburton provides is sludge, the food is...
And for all of these criminals, no indictments or punishment, just huge bank accounts with more to come every second.

4. I have no idea why the press and prosecutors aren't all over this. |
|
You just have to read his statement from the book and connect the dots. He was shoved out there to lie, period. By whom? The guy who asked him to do it - the President - BINGO Obstruction of Justice
Quite a night.

9. Well, we know why the press isn't...and prosecutors... |
|
taking a cue from Australia, maybe they think waiting till terms are finished would be a more successful route? Hell, I don't know, I just really hope that extracting justice doesn't have to come from outside this country. If it does, there will be lots more held accountable than if our government would take action now, to aggressively investigate and go after the prez's cabal.

12. Yep. The pols have strange ground rules |
|
No indictments before elections, a rule broken in Alabama with the Siegelman but not Libby (Fitz had him in 2004 I believe)and waiting until the term is over. The wait makes sense because there's no structure to really nail anbody except a special prosecutor.
There's always hope for some rational behavior. These guys broke way to many laws to be tolerated.

7. I am just too late to recommend |
|
But hopefully now that this issue is exposed, the Congressional Sergeant at arms will lead all these people away!
KO had someone one his show that was saying that any time a Bush offical does not respond to a COngressional subpoena, the Sergeant at Arms can arrest the person and CONFINE THEM TO A PRISON IN THE BASEMENT OF THE CAPITAL BUILDING.
Wouldn't that be a cool event to witness!
