Poll question: Which post-war POTUS had the most PERSONAL integrity?
To keep the list manageable, I am only including chief executives since WWII. I am not asking who was best for the country or who was the most effective, but only who was the most honest, conscientious and dilligent personally.

8. I agree
However, some would apply it to Leo Durocher's maxim: Nice guys finish last.

11. While in office, I mean.
I assumed no one would pick the current occupant since he hasn't been truthful about anything.

15. Well, consider Clinton...
he's fallen a few notches in the esteem of some people since leaving office.

12. I guess I wanted the pretense of a bipartisan poll.
I figure Iran Contra keeps Reagan from winning and Weinberger's pardon does it to Bush Sr. Otherwise, if one agrees with their perspective, one could argue they acted concientiously in pursuing it. It would be an unconvincing argument for a lot of reasons.

Arguably, the pardon keeps Ford from winning.

7. Jimmy Carter. But Eisenhower, esp. after he was out of
office, worked hard to raise the consciousness of the American people to the growing threat of the military-industrial complex. He tried hard to warn us about what would happen if we didn't pay attention.

9. Jimmeh...
A decent man who is willing to do the right thing, even if it costs him. The least pander-reliant president of recent decades.

14. 1) Carter; 2) Truman; 3) Ike.
But HST & Ike were nearly a draw for second.
