Is "Wet-Start" McCain an Asset or a Liability for the US?

Personally I think his 'all war, all the time' mantra is more than a little tired.

IMHO, in order for the US to reclaim its superpower status, we need to engage both enemies and allies in meaningful diplomacy.

Slightly off-topic, why is it that this will probably be referred to as 'appeasement' when it's is plain old international diplomacy?

As for our superpower status, it's not gone...we've just stopped being a RESPECTED superpower and defaulted tot he usual FEARED type. We decided we were spending too much on PR, apparently.
