Wow! Fineman on KO...
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 07:14 PM by Doityourself
Some dieharders around Clinton called the Senate and told some senators like Schumer and others to call her and tell her to let it go! All and all 8 senators gathered by phone to talk to her...

Also, per KO, 23 congressional members had to tell Clinton they had to move on and she needed to release them...which she wasn't doing.

Man oh man..if not, she probably wouldn't have given up!

7. Rosen said she was not a bargaining chip
She was a Democrat. Pity she didn't have the sense to leave before the elected Democrats told her to get out of the race. It was always going to come to this.

She could have nailed in last night and enhanced her legacy forever, even gotten her VP spot maybe. We all said it could make or break her career on what she did. She did not chose wisely

9. She's done harm to women
She's behaved like a dithering teenage girl, hormonally afflicted, who's been told to clean her room, pitched a fit, and then goes into a sulk because she's told she'll be grounded if she doesn't clean that goddamn room RIGHT NOW.

Her behavior reinforced every bad stereotype that's hounded women for far too long - that she "needed room" to be able to absorb the shock of her defeat. What utter bullshit. When did any male candidate ever "need room" to concede graciously and bow out?

It's time for the Clintons (and, sorry, Bubba, but you're not going to be able to cull the new batch of White House interns) to exit stage left and be party elders. Their party is over.

33. lye and drano, you're one twisted person
HRC's petulant, childish behavior in her quest for power reflected poorly on her and indeed by extension, on women.

Lousy campaign, kitchen sink, never taking responsibility, never admitting errors and not facing reality with grace. HRC = the Glenn Close character in Fatal Attraction.

14. I disagree
She's behaving like someone who had the political battle of her life and is now taking a few days to decompress and to think about what she should do next. Is this a "female" thing to do? I know I do this during hard times, but if this is a trait unique to women, then I think it should be celebrated, not mocked. After the past 8 years of knee-jerk republicanism, I can't be the only one who thinks this way.

Disclaimer: I voted for Obama.

was not beating up on the girl, it was necessary. Some of her top aides called the senate and asked for an intervention...her own people. It isn't sexist..please dont try to bake it into that!

When you lose the nomination you don't separate your votes, you concede and endorse your party's winner.

43. Ever since the "catastrophic event"..
strategy for continuing her campaign, I've had a feeling that she would stay in it till the end. If her last hope were to come true, and something should derail Obama's candidacy, she would not need an active campaign..unless she has no faith that the Democratic Party would tap her to be the nominee.
