BUSH - 25% Approval --- CBS Poll --- Obama Leads McCain
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 09:27 PM by kpete
CBS) Presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama holds a six point lead over his Republican counterpart John McCain, a new CBS News poll finds. Obama leads McCain 48 percent to 42 percent among registered voters, with 6 percent of respondents undecided.

President Bush:

President Bush's approval rating is at its lowest level to date. Just 25 percent of Americans approve of the overall job Mr. Bush is doing as President, an all-time low for him and among the lowest approval ratings ever recorded for a President.

Sixty-seven percent disapprove of the job Bush is doing - the highest such figure in CBS News polls since he assumed office.

Only Presidents Nixon (24 percent) and Truman (22 percent) have seen polls showing job approval ratings lower than 25 percent during their presidencies, according to Gallup Polls. President Carter’s all-time low was 26 percent.

14. McCain is the candidate because no competent Republican will run this year.
He's the candidate because an electorate that rejected him saw the other losers on their slate and gagged.

McCain is a sacrificial lamb.

When you vote in November, bring the mint jelly.

2. That seems high
So, one out of four people think he's doing a great job? I'd believe maybe 10-15%.

5. The only thing keeping his numbers as high as 25% is the lack of a military draft.
If they were drafting those 25%'ers kids, it would be even lower.

recorded for a President." ---- then the post says: "Only Presidents Nixon (24 percent) and Truman (22 percent) have seen polls showing job approval ratings lower than 25 percent during their presidencies, according to Gallup Polls. President Carter’s all-time low was 26 percent".

Am I reading this wrong?

9. Yes. Read it again, sloooowwwwwly.
Lowest ever for him, among the lowest for any President.

However, I too agree it's too high. I'm not so cynical to believe that 25% of all voters are THAT stupid - 10%-15%, sure, but not 25%.

I don't believe McCain's numbers either. AFIK, the (R)s no longer make up anywhere near 50% of eligible voters and the HRC supporters, Libertarians, Greens, Communists, Socialists, etc... aren't going to vote for McSame.

The polls are bullshit. They're setting us up AGAIN for a plausible squeaker election.

I figured the only one who like him now are his extended family and employees of big oil. That should be like 3%.
