Is Osama Bin Laden dead?

My dad claims that way back when the Afghanistan war started, he saw a general on TV (I don't remember his name) who said that his airstrike hat killed Osama Bin Laden, and that this general was later fired or otherwise silenced. Does anyone know anything about this?

There is a video that showed a "bin Laden" who was fatter than the real one, and who wore a gold watch, which bin Laden, as a fundamentalist Muslim, would never wear. I have no doubt that bin Laden has been dead for several years. His videos and audios show up only at times convenient to the Republicans.
