GOP TAKEOVER

June 5, 2008 -- SOME young Republicans took umbrage in April when East Village gadfly John Penley told Page Six he and some other slacktivists were protesting against the Bowery Wine Company, which is co-owned by Bruce Willis. "We want to show our opposition to right-wing Republicans opening yuppie wine bars in our neighborhood," Penley said. Too bad. The New York Young Republican Club saw the item and held its monthly social at the place, which is actually on East First Street, this week. "Needless to say, we're going to fill his neighborhood whether he likes it or not," vowed one juvenile GOPer. "We're coming with briefcases and BlackBerrys in hand to stake our claim."

GOOD THING I'M NOT A BETTING WOMAN

.... Now, about my brilliant political brain. It's 2006. I meet Sen. Obama with Sen. Schumer at a VIP screening for "Bobby." That night he tells me he was 7 when RFK was assassinated. Also that the sudden spotlight since his '04 convention speech does not make him nervous because, says the then-fledgling hotshot: "I am never nervous." ....

First thing you were told (Tuesday night, Dem nomination) was, "He's (GORE) not talking to the press." Well, with me he was talking. Fluidly, freely, happily. But saying nothing. Talking, joking, laughing, repeatedly walking toward me. Saying absolutely nothing.

Like: Did he see "Recount," HBO's docudrama about his now-immortal Florida recount? "No. I've been away. I only just returned from Israel. I was getting an award." Presumably he might've seen an advance screening or a DVD? "No." . . . He going to watch any of that night's events on TV? "I can't. I'm here. Spending the entire evening here. I won't be able to see anything happening anywhere else." Presumably he might view a taped version? "No." . . . And his view on the November election? "I hope whoever will do the most for our environment." Presumably he might squeeze out an additional statement? "No." ....

Then, enjoying himself immensely as he waggled a finger at me, it was: "And kindly remember, in future you are to address me as 'Your Adequateness.' " ....

why does she think Al Gore didn't win?

We had a spiteful corporate media enabled coup in 2000 against the primary political champion for empowering the American People by democratizing information via the Internet, that kind of work will live on forever.

The current occupant of the White House appointed by a partisan Supreme Court now enjoys the lowest approval rankings since records have been kept, John McSame can't run far enough away from him without getting radiation burns.

Al Gore would go on to win a Webbie for his support for democracy by championing the Internet, thereby empowering the American People something of which the corporate media hated him for as this threatened their monopoly on information. His pioneering two way Current Television Network would win an Emmy in the same year, his movie; "An Inconvenient Truth" won an Oscar, and a Nobel Peace Prize, he would also have an award winning best selling book; "The Assault on Reason", something for which I believe should be required reading particularly for the corporate media. He would also throw the world's largest rock concert on behalf of saving life as we know it. To my knowledge no one living or dead has ever accomplished all this before. On top of all this Al Gore would make much more money than he ever would've made in government service to the American People.

In large part, the American People hold the same corporate media; which enabled Bush to power in the very beginning by slandering, libeling and trashing our best and brightest in the same low regard as any betrayers of power against the American People's best interests. In spite of this continuous assault by our so called fourth estate guardian watch dogs for democracy, Al Gore would come from 20 points down and win the popular vote by over half a million, not counting the tens of thousands of Jeb Bush/Katherine Harris sponsored purged legitimate voters, before the Republican dominated Supreme Court called a halt to counting the votes and determining the American People's will.

In short here are the losers, Cheney/Bush whose names will down in to infamy in spite of currently residing in the White House along with their felonious five Supreme Court accomplices, and last but certainly not least the corporate media; which have lost the American People's trust and will likely never get it back anymore than Benedict Arnold did.

Thanks for the thread, UTUSN.

P.S. Al Gore also helped rescue approximately 270 patients, doctors and victims from Katrina by flying them to Tennessee on his own dime while Bush and McSame were busy cutting cake. I believe Al Gore will go down in the history books as a major winner even if never runs for office again.
