So we are going to give Khalid Sheikh Mohamed what he wants |
|
Bright, bright, bright
This is yet another example of how you make a martyr just because we want revenge
Khalid's confession came out in torture... somewhere in US Law using that evidence was not permissible... that was in another america
That said.... good job... making these folks martyrs and heroes will only encourage others
:banghead:
There are days one wonders if this is on purpose!

1. Screw that. Let him go preach to the cockroaches in Supermax |
|
for the rest of his fucking life.
For religious fanatics like him with no remorse or forgiveness in his heart, life in prison is a far worse punishment than death.

2. He'll be dead before the next election, that's a certainty. |
|
Remember how they rushed Saddam to the gallows just before the Democrats took over Congress in 2006? Can't take a chance and have these guys available for a public investigation.

3. Since all he has to look forward to is more torture for a crime he probably didn't commit |
|
I'd be asking for death too, and screaming about how guilty I was.

5. I would not be that sure about the committing part |
|
but since the evidence was gotten under torture is not admissible in any court, UNTIL NOW
And that precedent is what should scare the living daylights out of all of us

6. I'm absolutely certain that this is some random schmuck |
|
Because you don't hold trials like these where the evidence is not available unless you have no case.
The law works best when it's transparent.
As you say, by allowing this travesty to occur, there will be many more like Jose Padilla who are going to be arrested without charge, tortured, show-trialed and executed...and it will probably be a liberal voter, next time.
