Does anyone feel like they are waking up from a long nightmare? |
|
In the past few days, the McClellan story has grown legs to the point where I think Rove is really starting to get nervous. The Senate intelligence report came out saying that the intelligence was "overstate", Obama is the presumptive nominee and has already turned down lobbyist money and confronted asshole Lieberman....
I feel like in the last 72 hours the entire country is waking up to the horrible corruption and finally DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

3. Our country went into a dark place on 9/11 and we're only now waking up |

Between the revelations from the inside of Bushworld and the hope for change stirred up by Obama's victory, I feel like we've finally seen some light at the end of the tunnel and now we're ready to get back to being AMERICA again.

Just last night I felt like doing some things I used to enjoy but had not been too much fun in recent years. For instance, I listened to an old time radio story on the net last night. A small pleasure but one I wasn't able to enjoy these past few years.
I'm beginning to feel my old self returning. Maybe dusting off my sewing machine because I think I can concentrate better.
Sure, we have a slog ahead of us until November. But every time I hear another Obama story the day gets a little brighter. These are the signs of the nightmare lifting in my corner of DU.

5. A forty year nightmare |
|
I was only 12 years old when the country went to sleep and elected Nixon. I thought they would wake up in 1977, especially watching Jimmy Carter give up the limousine to walk from the Capitol to the White House. Alas, that was just a brief roll over and it was back to sleep. The next bump in the middle of the night was Clinton's inauguration, but by June of '93, it was back to sleep as Harry & Louise turned the lights out on anything progressive.
Yes, it's been forty long years that the country has snored through a fascist nightmare. Maybe waking up has something to do with all the energy drinks that are so popular now with the younger generation. :yourock:

6. I think many of us had woken up, otherwise Obama wouldn't have had |

momentum... He's a smart guy, but it takes people to want the change and to vote for it.. there hasn't been an outlet or a politician who has made major impact on the corruption... there's only small victories.. Seriously, getting Obama is like getting a new Sheriff in town.. I know someone has the pic.. post it up if you like.

7. I hope it's the beginning of the end for the nightmare |

Unfortunately, there have been so many revelations of *'s murderous lies and corruption. At first, I'd think "This is it. Now the people will wake up and toss him out." I was always wrong.
If we win the White House and solid majorities in both houses, then I'll say the nightmare is over.
