CBS 'News': Not a peep about Senate report on republicon lies to start Iraq invasion
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 06:43 PM by SpiralHawk
But a major -- Breaking News - segment concerning "gossip on the internet."

Ptoooey on the republicon-owned corporate media and their talking heads.

This fluff in place of important truths is a gross & intentional disservice to America.

I am sorry I tuned in, for I expected a substantial story on today's Senate hearing laying out the fact that the BushCo republicon homelanders deliberately lied us into the Iraq Oil-Profits Crusade.

Move over Faux News. You have competition for #1 anti-citizen propaganda organ.

TIme to look ahead for solutions to the problems that lay before us & so on.

5. Move on? Not me. I demand the truth.
I just ain't ever going to be casual about it either.

I ain't moving on to turn my back on all the dead and maimed solidiers and civilians, the waste of our national treasure, and the scads of enemies generated by the deliberate lies told by the republicons, and the feckless, cowardly parroting of those lies by the corporate media while turning their back deliberately on the truth.

The republicon war lies impact every American, and every American has a right to be informed about them directly and frankly. Otherwise we concede to corporate totalitarianism -- and that is not hyperbole.

7. You can demand anything you want. Those most of the Senate was
complicit in the Iraq war as well. Anyhow, the thing reads as nothing more than somebody's opinion about Bush's motives. If they were stupid enough to buy into it then, they're too stupid to do anything about it now.

8. I think that in this case, it has more to do with the "public's right to know"
there are many many uninformed people out there, and I think network news has an obligation in situations like this.

10. Don't you think that the Iraq war con will be discussed & studied at length,
dissected & trisected till the end of time? It was probably the largest fraud ever fobbed off in world history. The fact that a report
has received scan attention today means nothing.

12. being discussed and studied, dissected and trisected will not happen
by casual observers unless the national media starts the discussion, besides when the American Senate has a hearing on such a humongous matter, it certainly should get at least a passing mention on the network news, IMHO. And unless the masses are involved, we won't be immune from going down that road again. I am not trying to start an argument, i just think the news is doing the public a grave injustice. And the media should be reporting on the day to day doings of the fed government.

13. Anything related to bush is so passe & below the radar now that
it has no interest except to political junkies & historians. All that is known about this thing was known at the time & reported by Knight-Ridder as it happened. There is probably nothing new in that report.

4. I am totally with you Hawk
The us senate has a hearing on the current administration lying us into war, with 1,000,000+ dead iraqi's, 2,000,000 displaced, resulting in massive fraud, massive corruption, and massive increases in gas which will cause massive inflation, and NOT A WORD on cbs?

I do think CBS needs to explain to America if they are really for America, if they really love America and if they really want America to maintain it's standing in the world. Because you can't tell it by what they choose to report on.

I strongly disagree with the last poster. We, the progressive movement know all about the lies, doubtful if the mushy middle realizes the extent of the lies.

This is one of the most important news stories in our lifetime and the complicit MSM is trying to ignore it.

Keith Will be covering it! Thank goodness for Keith.

15. Because I am still OUTRAGED about CBS dereliction of duty...
and the general failure of corporate media to serve in any way the basic democratic interest of the citizens of the United States of America, I'm giving this thread another kick...
