Sadness in the family.
My cousin Danial turned himself in today because he was supposed to go to Iraq and did not go. A while ago he joined the marines and was supposed to go to Iraq but I think he got scared and wanted to spend more time with his baby. He is 19 and his wife had a baby a year ago and he joined up for the money. We are all afraid of what will happen to him. If anyone else is going through this situation can you tell me if everything turned out ok.

3. I had a friend who did
I don't know all the particulars, because I've kind of lost touch with him, but his parents and my parents are friends so I heard the third-hand version. It was the Army, not the Marines, so I can't say if it'll be the same, but they said the Army agreed not to court-martial him as long as he would fulfill his commitment and do his tour in Iraq. So he shipped out, and as far as I know, they let it slide.

Good luck to your cousin. I hope it works out for him.

11. they will make him pay back the bonus at the very least
but they might bring him up on charges as well. I have read several stories about the bonus and how they want the money back in short time if there is a separation of any sort.

I wish him luck.
