Bush/OPEC screwed Carter. Enron/Republicans screwed Gray Davis. BushCo will screw Obama. |
|
It's already been seen in the 2006 congressional elections that oil prices are established on the whim of those who control the supply (it went down just before and during the election, and went right back up and higher afterward, as a favor to Republicans).
Bush 1 and his OPEC friends screwed Carter over significantly. Left him dangling and disgraced.
Bush 2's Enron friends, major BushCo campaign contributors, purposely screwed over California with a phony energy crisis, causing the ousting of the Governor.
Right now, they're showing their tactics once again. They can cause oil to go wherever they wish. When Obama gets elected, they'll Carter/Enron him as well. They'll poison the well in order to control it completely.
Anyone read "The Tipping Point"?
Impeach and proscecute NOW. BushCo/Republicans are sadists in the true definition of the word. And worse.

5. Forewarned is forearmed. It shows them for what they are, and allows us to act intelligently |

when crisis occurs. Especially Republican-made crisis. "Oh, that's them screwing with oil prices to make Obama look powerless. I get it, those assholes, and I'll oppose them with all of my strength."
When the diagnosis is correct, healing can begin. Cancer must be identified and then cut out.
Impeach and prosecute now. I'll be optimistic when we've secured Democracy from those who don't want it, and who are more powerful than it as it currently stands.
This is not a popular stance, but it is necessary. Merely having a Democratic President shall not preclude them from dirty tricks. That's what they save their dirty tricks FOR. We must remove those who practice dirty tricks before they can employ them yet again.
I am optimistic that we can restore freedom and Democracy if we take these steps, and follow through by fixing the damage they've done to the Constitution, one law at a time. Dennis Kucinich will work for this.
"'Optimism': the belief that things will turn out for the better. Irrational, bordering on insane." K9, Doctor Who. I want to be a realist and fix the trouble we face. Now.

To do that, to steal Obama's thunder, they would have to bring oil back down to $30 a barrel and fix the economy. Not gonna happen.

9. Goldwater did not sow the seeds of this media consolidation |
|
expecting it to bear fruit in one or two election cycles
Republicans THINK LONG TERM AND STRATEGICALLY
We seem not to
Once we start thinking strategically, we will be able to play THEIR GAME much better
Or, you can curl into a ball

10. Yep, just look at Gingrich (if you can bear it). |
|
The destruction of unions, government services, and the middle class began in earnest with Reagan/Bush. The usurpation of the Middle East's oil began right after WW2. It's all coming to a head and we must resist.

13. No more "Lee Hamiltons" |
|
"One of the key congressional Republicans fighting this rear-guard action was Rep. Dick Cheney of Wyoming, who became the ranking House Republican on the Iran-contra investigation. Cheney already enjoyed a favorable reputation in Washington as a steady conservative hand. Cheney smartly exploited his relationship with Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Ind., who was chairman of the Iran-contra panel. Hamilton cared deeply about his reputation for bipartisanship and the Republicans quickly exploited this fact. A senior committee source said one of Cheney’s top priorities was to block Democrats from deposing Vice President Bush about his Iran-contra knowledge. Cheney 'kept trying to intimidate Hamilton,' the source said. 'He kept saying if we go down that road, we won’t have bipartisanship.' So, Hamilton gave Bush a pass. The limited investigation also gave little attention to other sensitive areas, such as contra-drug trafficking and the public diplomacy operation. They were pared down or tossed out altogether. Despite surrendering to Cheney’s demands time and again, Hamilton failed, in the end, to get a single House Republican to sign the final report. Only three moderate Republicans on the Senate side – Warren Rudman, William Cohen and Paul Trible – agreed to sign the report, after extracting more concessions. Cheney and the other Republicans submitted a minority report that denied that any significant wrongdoing had occurred."Hamilton and Iran-Contra

14. Imagine if we'd taken down Reagan and Bush on that, as they deserved. |
|
Gas would still be $1.49 a gallon. We'd still have a middle class, and unions. And we wouldn't be feeling powerless over the rape of our country, and hopefully not wondering twenty years from now, how much better things would be if we'd taken down BushCo for what they're doing right now.
