The story of Carol McCain - where the hell have I been?

So as I research this, it appears that McCain's first wife and former model, Carol, gets into a car crash while he is in Viet Nam. She is horribly disfigured and needs surgeries, one of which cuts her height by 4 inches. He comes home, has some type of mid-life crisis, can't get a good job, starts cheating on her and settles on a mistress, Cindy, an heiress to the Hensley fortune. He divorces his wife and marries Cindy one month later. He then uses Cindy's boatload of cash to start his political career and now he wants to be president.

Why hasn't this hit the MSM, or have I just been too busy to notice?

IMO... it would have to take the mass email chain-letter route to become a major issue McCain would be forced to address.

I heard about this 8 years ago, when McCain was running against Bush for the nomination in 2000. I hear it mentioned occasionally by a pundit here and there on MSNBC, but, you're right ... this isn't a well-known story. Yes, McCain's sex life is his business. But if he's gonna be mister family values republican, i think this shows us something about his character. That, and the fact that he's been heard calling his second wife the "c-word" in public! Now, that's just disgusting!
